I said back in January that 2026 was going to be 💭 a year of properly healing, learning, putting myself first — and getting my creative spark back. It's still surprisingly hard living a 'grown up' life, and being tripped up by bad memories and betrayal triggers and even the occasional comparison trap, but I'm doing okay. How about you? 👇 Tell me how it's going.

2026 ✅ the stable streak continues. I'll never take it for granted.

For the last few years I've been able to have my annual brain MRI and see my consultant (the neurosurgeon) on the same day. This time round it wasn't possible, and I've had to wait a week, like I used to in the early days. 🧠

'Scanxiety' is a known thing, of course. And it's been a joy to live without it for some time now — the longest I've spent worrying has been approximately the length of a hospital cafe brew — but here we are, it's all coming back to me. I know I'll be fine whatever they say, and I know I've been stable for a long time, but there's still a little pestering presence in the back of my mind (and my left temporal lobe 🥁) that is piping up and saying, 'ooh, but what if?'
