I hear your laugh so clearly like it was yesterday. We’ve been laughing since the first day we met at summer research before starting ncssm, when we both had no clue what we were doing. We literally had to force ourselves to not look at each other or else we’d start cracking up.

I’ve always admired your resilience and strength, Keir. At State when you were in a wheelchair/crutches after tearing your ACL, you would come with Modesty and I to late night Botewa practices- so much that you became an honorary member of the team. Then your knee got better and you joined officially, becoming the only person to join without ever trying out lol. I was so nervous about you dancing on your knee but you had no fears, a ball of energy that no one could contain.

No one could rush you either. When we’d walk in a group to whatever event we were late to, you’d be 5-10 paces behind, not in a hurry at all. I would lock arms with you hoping you would match my pace but you never budged! insisting we’d get there when we get there or the party would start when we got there (and you were right). That’s because you lived life on your own terms, and truly enjoyed every moment of it.

I like to say that I started the friend group lol, bringing on Stefie and Sata, but you were the glue that held us together. From signing us up for intramurals with no say, planning our hangouts and girls trips, and showing up to support each of us in everything we did. It was and will always be #anythingforthegirls. Keir, you gave so much of yourself to us and taught us what true friendship means. I’ll miss you forcing me to do burpees in the gym, our scary movie night with Marcus, I’ll miss our shenanigans, the pics/vids of cute dogs you send me even though you know I don’t like animals, your sense of humor and fashion, your advice, our trips, your love.

I’m so thankful to have spent your last weekend with you. I consider it a true blessing to have been one of your chosen sisters these past 8 years. I love and adore you immensely. I thank God for bringing you into my life, and I can’t wait to hug you and laugh with you again 🤍✨

I’ve prayed this verse over myself hundreds of times throughout this process, my source of hope and reassurance through all the highs, lows, and deeep trenches of this journey.

Thank you God for seeing me through to May 21, 2026, the day I officially became Grace Naa Ayorkor Tisdale, MD 🩺

All glory to God that I get to train at Duke, my number one choice for my psychiatry residency!!! I’m so grateful for all the support from my family, friends, and mentors along the way. Overjoyed for the next chapter - NC, we’re SO back baby! 💙🩺👩🏾‍⚕️
