April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Sexual assault isn’t always what people think it is.
It’s not just violent attacks by strangers.

It can look like:
• Being pressured or coerced into sex
• Someone continuing after you’ve said no
• Being touched without your consent
• Being too intoxicated to give consent
• Sexual acts within relationships where consent is ignored

Consent must be clear, informed, and freely given — every time.

We stand with survivors. We believe you. You are not alone. 💜

This week focuses on raising awareness, challenging myths, and centring survivors’ voices. Sexual abuse and sexual violence can affect anyone — women and men — and the impact can last long after the harm occurred.

💡In the UK alone, an estimated around 900,000 people experienced sexual assault in the last year — and that’s just what’s captured in surveys, with many never reporting what happened to them.
