YOU GUYS. Meet MESSY BUSINESS, the workplace comedy Grace and I have been talking about making for THREE YEARS. 😭🧹🎬

We wrote a 30-minute pilot about a cleaning company, then let it sit because we thought we needed thousands of dollars to bring it to life.

A couple weeks ago, somewhere in the stress of running our actual cleaning company, I thought, “What are we waiting for? Let’s start shooting our show.”

Now we’re making five-to-seven-minute episodes inspired by our lives—with PLENTY of exaggeration, because we do actually know how to run a business. 😂

But there’s a reason this means so much to me.

Over eight years ago, while attending SUNY Brockport, I was so depressed that I spent about a week in bed. That’s when I discovered The Office. For a little while, laughing at that show gave me a break from everything I was feeling.

I remember thinking that if I could ever make something that gave someone else that same relief—even for five seconds—that would mean everything to me.

And now we’re actually doing it. 🥹

I’m so thankful to have Grace as my business partner and best friend. Sharing this dream with someone who’s just as excited to make it happen is something I’ll never take for granted.

And I’m beyond grateful for @decarlis, who directed, produced, and filmed this. Watching someone so talented bring our ideas to life has been incredible.

We’re starting with what we have, doing something we love, and seeing where it goes. I hope it makes you laugh as much as we’ve laughed making it.

Whatever you’ve been waiting to start, give yourself a chance. Put some action behind that dream.

Last night at NRE Space in Ithaca was exactly what I needed. Life has gotten so crazy busy lately, and it felt SO good to shake off the stress and get back up on stage. I literally feel alive again. ❤️

✏️ BACK-TO-SCHOOL RESET — 10% OFF DEEP CLEANS ✏️

I feel this weird wave of guilt every first day of school.

Did I do enough this summer? Did we make enough memories? Did I make it magical enough? Did I spend enough time actually being with them?

And this year, I looked around my house.

I saw the crumbs. The clutter. The little fingerprints. All the things I kept saying I’d get to later.

And for once, instead of feeling guilty about it, I felt proud.

Because I realized that energy didn’t disappear.

I just put it somewhere else.

I took some of the energy I normally put into keeping my home exactly how I like it and invested it in my kids instead. And that was a really good trade. ❤️

As the owner of a cleaning company, and an adhd mom, I also know how embarrassed people can feel letting someone into their home when they’ve fallen behind.

But at Rose Cleaning Co, when we walk into a home and see the evidence of a busy summer, we’re not judging you.

We’re proud of you.

And here’s the other thing I’ve learned. Delegating cleaning tasks means you don’t have to choose between giving that energy to your family, or having a home that feels good to live in.

You deserve both.

There is something about walking into a truly clean home that makes your brain feel quieter. You can breathe. You can think. You can start fresh.

And when you take care of yourself and create some breathing room in your own life, you have more of yourself to give back to your kids.

So maybe this school year, delegate something.

Not because you couldn’t do it yourself.

Because your time and energy are valuable enough to decide where you want to spend them.

Let us take the deep cleaning off your plate and give you that fresh-start feeling at home while you focus your energy on the things only you can do. ❤️
