Every year on August 7th, I take a moment to speak openly about mental health through my perspective, not for attention but because I remember feeling ashamed & scared to ask for help. I speak up because I would rather someone think I’m dramatic for posting than not take an opportunity to remind someone who needs to know they’re not alone.

Mental health matters & conversations surrounding it need to be de-stigmatized. You do not need to suffer in silence. Your existence is important. It’s okay to seek help, it’s okay to take medicine & it’s okay to go to therapy. Taking care of your mental health is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness. You are so loved.

This year is especially meaningful to me & I am incredibly grateful to the people in my life. I wanted to share some of my happiest memories over the past five years, as a reminder that things truly do get better. I am genuinely so lucky to have had the resources & support systems in my life that made this milestone possible. I have some general mental health resources linked in my bio & my DM’s are always open♥️ by @graceminnnn
