Cheers to ONE year of This & Yap!

Over the past year, we’ve produced three experiences under one programming series, bringing together creatives from different places and spaces because they believed in a concept before there was anything tangible to point to.

After nearly two years of not producing anything, I took a chance on a vision I couldn’t fully explain yet. There was no proof of concept, no blueprint, and no guarantee that anyone would understand what I was trying to create. But somehow, people did.

I knew I loved hosting. I knew I was good at building relationships and connecting people. What I didn’t realize was that those strengths could live together in one space. This & Yap became the intersection of everything I love: creating experiences, bringing people together, and turning conversations into community.

To every collaborator, attendee, creative partner, friend, and supporter, thank you for believing in this before it became what it is today.

If there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s to stay open to collaboration, bet on yourself, and trust the ideas placed on your heart, even when the full picture isn’t clear yet.

You never know the impact one conversation, one connection, or one leap of faith can make.

2025 was centered around conversation (planting seeds), 2026 looks more like a community in motion (growing roots)

What started as a creative thought grew into something far bigger than dialogue; people showing up, connecting, and building together IRL.

Leading with intention creates momentum. Community creates longevity. When people feel connected to the vision, they don’t just attend, they invest and help it grow.

Our 2026 vision board is rooted in community-led experiences and intentional moments that bring people together offline. Grateful for everyone who helped plant the seeds.

I found so much meaning in community; the people who poured into me, supported me, and met me where I was (not everyone is pictured, but every connection mattered). I’m deeply grateful for the relationships built and the ones that continue to pour back into me.

I’m thankful for the projects I was part of this year, and especially proud of myself for executing a vision rooted in something bigger than me: bringing people together and creating space to highlight their craft. I’m even more excited for these projects to grow and create an even bigger impact next year.
