Last year I moved to CO to start my medical journey. I first got my Master of Science degree (on a full tuition scholarship 🙌🏽) and now I'm starting medical school. God's time is the best and HE makes all things beautiful in HIS time.

So here's to my college advisor who said I would be wasting my time applying to medical schools.
To my black people who are not being taken seriously about their health concerns because they are believed to have "tough skin".
To reducing the implicit and explicit racial bias and stereotypes towards black people.
To the people who do not just need treatment but also someone who is willing to listen, show empathy and be a confidant.
To that black woman who thinks the finish line is not worth it, to that immigrant who thinks she/he can't holdon any longer, to anyone who thinks their dream is too far fetched.
Here's to everyone who started calling me Dr even before graduating college.
And here's to professors, bosses, mentors, family and friends who pushed me thus far.

Being a black immigrant, this journey has been very challenging for me, truth be told. I've struggled and battled with prejudice, discrimination and racial bias. Somewhere in between, I've met some amazingly wonderful people who helped add light to my path. Getting to this point wouldn't have been possible without them. A special gratitude to my family and the loml who stood by me every step of this journey, I know I am blessed having y'all by my side 💕💕

Remember, you need to believe in yourself more than anyone else. The journey is just as important as the destination so learn from those experiences and challenges, and have some fun while at it. Continue to push towards your goal with hardwork and a whole lot of Faith. God is able 🙏🏽

5/5 countries in 9 days !!! This is Belgium 🇧🇪 (Brussels+Bruges) 🩷. I had too much Belgian waffles, although I don't think there's anything like "too much" when you are on vacation 😂

Nine years later, I find myself standing on the London Bridge once again, even though I've visited a few times in between.
