I decided for my project to home in on the colour pallette of stage lighting and explore pattern details found on the stage floor of the gig setting. Using elastic I looked at foot pedals, amps and and artists performing which became the source of inspiration for final samples ! by @gracesmiscellaneousmakes

I explored a lot or different ideas at the visual research stages of my textiles degree final project. I looked at my natural surroundings, museum exhibitions and the details seen on objects related to music. For example, I made little print experiments of a yamaha keyboard as seen in slide 5 using blu tac and an ink stamp. I was inspired by Do Ho Suh’s rate modern exhibition because of his interest in detail, sewing tiny lettering on plug sockets that make up a whole installation piece by @gracesmiscellaneousmakes

I just got my work back from being marked and this was from the garment project submitted before christmas. I really enjoyed using wooden fibres such as mohair and trying to create foggy countryside, heather moors-esque sample ideas 🪻🪻🪻🪻 by @gracesmiscellaneousmakes

alpaca lilac beaded shrug sample: I’ve been making garments for the most recent knit project and I’m getting in beads. these glass beads have been incorporated during the knitting process. it’s very therapeutic adding them in. thanks @gfabradavies for the modelling and @stanfez for the misty pics on my sample mounting by @gracesmiscellaneousmakes
