I never thought of a life without cheer, since it’s all i’ve been doing for the past 14 years of my life. this past semester due to many injuries and prayers about my decision, i decided to let go of the sport that i love. this past semester has taught me a lot about myself. this time hasn’t been easy but i am so grateful for all the amazing memories i get to hold with me. i remember dreaming of being a collegiate cheerleader since i could remember and being able to accomplish that goal has been one of my greatest successes. i am so grateful God gave me such a gift. to all the coaches who have made such an impact on me and have shaped me into the woman i am today, thank you! thank you for always pushing me to my fullest potential and helping make all my dreams come true. to all my teammates, thank you for being by my side pushing me inside and outside of the gym, there’s no bond stronger than the ones i made w you. to @gamecockcheer thank you for making the little girl i once was dreams come true and giving me the opportunity to represent South Carolina. thank you to my mom, who even though she didn’t want me to be a cheerleader, put me in the sport and made sure all my dreams came true. after MANY long drives to the cheer gym, our adventures together at cheer competitions, to taking me to my first college tryout, i wouldn’t be where i am without you and am thankful for the sacrifices you made for me along my journey. cheerleading without a doubt was one of the best things to happen to me and i wouldn’t be where i am today without it. i cannot wait to see where God will take me next!
