Honnneestttlllyyyyy…. this is a really late graduation post 😭
I kept pushing off taking professional grad pictures (life was lifeing!!!!), but anywaysss…

It’s officially been a year since I graduated from the illustrious Howard University 💙❤️

First and foremost, I want to thank God. Without His goodness and mercy, I truly wouldn’t be here today. I want to thank my family for continuously pushing me to be great and supporting me through all the tears, panic attacks, and everything in between. Thank you to my friends, classmates, and everyone who was a part of my Howard journey. No matter how big or small your impact was, you all helped shape me into who I am today. God truly used every one of you in building me up.

And lastly, Alice… I did it!!! I said I would go to Howard and graduate, and I did. I know you’re proud, and this is one of many promises I made to you. I hate that you aren’t here physically to witness it because I know you would’ve been the loudest cheerleader in the room. It’s been 6 years, and the feeling is still fresh, but I will never stop carrying your legacy and being the light in every room the same way you were. I love and miss you always 💙

As I reflect back on my gap year, there’s so much to be thankful for and so much that I’ve learned. God is truly doing a new thing in my life, and the Grace from a year ago wouldn’t believe what’s happening now. This past year truly broke me in ways I can’t even explain, but through it all, God showed me the beauty in being completely broken down just to rebuild yourself stronger. God is so good, and I thank Him for everything He’s doing in my life.

I’ll be continuing my education this Fall, and while I want to keep the details private for now, I’m truly excited for what’s ahead. I know I’m a year late posting this, but I’m learning that it’s never too late to celebrate yourself and thank God for how far you’ve come.
