SEED005 is from an artist i very happily stumbled across during some time spent in bristol, fig. her standout contribution at @accidentalmeetings : saccade was enough to go on, but Grace's unspoken, tangible energy was what made me approach her to tackle a seed mix.

i'm thankful grace has shared this journey with us, a raw reflection on how change can feel so internally unsettling and disruptive- while outwardly having to persevere.

'this is a sonic reflection of my experience of weaning off sertraline too suddenly, coinciding with a time of significant change. this made for an emotionally challenging period of readjustment.

i wanted to capture the raw, messy moments of discomfort and tension, while also acknowledging the fleeting softer moments that felt more accepting. it mirrors my experience of navigating through change - unpredictable and abrasive but not void of of light and clarity.

making this felt intuitive and honest. I haven’t made sense of everything but I’m slowly learning to find comfort through going with the flow.'

Introducing Fig!

Prolific radio host, podcaster and devoted digger within the outer edges of both club and world music. Fig’s sets weave a plethora of influences from the likes of dub and trip-hop, just as much as post-punk and grungier tendencies.

Between two residencies with Manchester’s Crop Radio and Bristol’s Psychotherapy Sessions, Grace’s selections sit comfortably in warm, cosy corners, as well as the stranger, whimsical side of things.

Jamie’s influence on the Positive Harmony project is seismic. An ultra-curious artist whose sensory experiments span sound, light, and very much the delightful in-between.

Not only is he returning with his beautiful crystal-light work, Jamie will also close out the party with an extended meander through his tastes. Textural chug, peculiar house jams, you name it. We can’t wait to hear the sonics in his bag.

A fig is no ordinary fruit. The dominant ingredient in the packed-lunch favourite Fig Roll, the fig is a luxurious fruit which was first cultivated by donnies in the Middle East approximately 5000 years ago. A prevalent and manifold motif in artistic traditions and symbolic storytelling in cultures ranging from Ancient Egypt to Judaism to stoicism, the Fig has been used to symbolise peace, prosperity, wisdom, and the cycle of life as an inevitable and universal experience across humanity.

What makes the fig unique is that its reproduction and pollination is entirely reliant on the fig wasp - a primordial, symbiotic relationship between beast and plant, one that entails the search, struggle and sacrifice of one being for the creation of something beautiful to be enjoyed by the wider world around us. What a fruit man.

But there’s only one fig that knows how to take a crowd on a journey through chugged-out techno to fizzy-pop downtempo via forgotten vocal house classics. Only one who aint afraid to sling out a curveball to get a dancefloor smiling and waving in unison. Only one that has people from far and wide chatting about their sets at 3 Wheel Drive, Psychotherapy Sessions, Dirtytalk, Saccade and every other good shubs the underground has to offer. Only one that even knows who DMZ are! And, most importantly, there’s only one that’s playing at Fully Peppered.

And that’s our mate Grace - the best fig of all. Another scholar of the Manchester -> Bristol -> Manchester pipeline who we have had the pleasure of having on at our parties and who always brings a vibe as sweet, spicy and full of brandy as your nans fig pudding.
