as each day passes by, my heart settles more and more. after everything that happened last year, i thought that you leaving would leave me in my state of depression and self doubt for the rest of my life. it takes an event like yours to start the chain reaction that is needed for the change in someone’s life. i’ve seen my actions and my soul rest easier ever since you have passed; what should have been a moment of heart break and mourning, i instead celebrated your entrance into Heaven. knowing your soul is at rest has brought clarity in my life. why would i be sad when you are in paradise? you will always be on my mind, I still feel your hands on my skin, and your voice in my ear, your cologne on your shirts, it’s all still there. and even as time passes i will still replay the same memories, clinging onto them because they were ours. i find my mind being scattered when talking about you because it’s unreal how each event happened before you were gone. He knew that we needed to have our last talks, our last catch ups, our last everything before you were gone. i express my gratitude to God for letting me meet you, experience you, and love you. My sweet baby Reb,
I have been at a loss of words for the past 24 hours. My most precious thing in my life is now gone. I have been so angry at the world for taking him away, that it wasn’t fair that he was scared when he die; that he deserved to die of age, not this. I am angry at him for wondering off, but I knew that was what he loved to do, let his Gypsy soul run free as me and my mom would say. But I have thought about his last 6 months, that he got to see snow, go down the river and paddle board with me and my friends. He got to do everything he wanted to do, and I could not have asked for a better last few months with him. As I sat next to him on the ground, I just begged that he would come to me in my dreams so that maybe I could feel him and play with him again. I have never met a better dog in my life, and there is no animal that will ever replace my precious pup. I love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be my sweet darling rebel. by @gracyn.white
