Passion 2024

If there’s anything 2023 has taught me, it’s that there is no one more undeserving of the mercy that God continues to pour out in my life than I am.

Every single day, I give God another reason to turn His back on me—to finally say I’ve gone too far, or that I’m no longer worth what my life cost Him—and there is nothing more amazing to me than the fact that He never will.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to attend Passion. There’s hardly anything on this earth that can rival singing to my savior, but having almost three days to come alongside thousands of other college students to focus on nothing more than lifting up the name of Jesus is truly a blessing.

This was the perfect way to start off 2024, and while God did so much in my own heart over these few days, my prayer is that everyone reading this would know these 3 things.

1) God loves you so much that He died for YOU

2) There is absolutely nothing—no mistake, no past decision, NOTHING—that you have done or could ever do to make Him love you any less

3) You can choose TODAY to have a relationship with Him and to accept the sacrifice He made for you by @gradycamp26

“If Jesus is real, then what else are we waiting for?”

Two years ago, one of my best friends sent me a podcast called ‘Becoming Something with Jonathan Pokluda’ and also invited me to Passion later that year, at which I heard Jennie Allen talk about letting go of the things that had held us captive. To this day, I could not overstate the impact that those things have had on my life.

Fast forward to last night, when I had the opportunity to gather in Neville Arena with thousands of other Auburn students to hear God speak through Jonathan Pokluda and Jennie Allen and to worship together alongside Passion once again. In the middle of a season of struggling to grasp what it is that God is calling me to, He showed back up again….the same way He did two years ago.

As amazing as it was for God to remind me once again of who He is and to quiet my doubts about where He is calling me, this story is not about me.

I’m still amazed that I go to a school where our basketball, baseball, and football coaches are calling on students to join together in worship. A school where our arena is opened up to crowds of students eager to have an encounter with God. A school where, no matter how many times they get washed off, I can always count on seeing Bible verses written on the sidewalks as I walk to class each morning.

Auburn is special, but this is also not a story about Auburn.

There’s only one God who can bring together a vision that started six weeks ago—two speakers from Texas, a band from Atlanta, a former contestant from The Bachelor, athletes, coaches, and a bunch of broken college students—and change lives. There’s only one God who can free people from sins that have kept them trapped for so long. There’s only one God who can move in such a way that would cause over 100 students to declare to the world that they belong to Him—students willing to march across campus in the dark to get baptized in a dirty, mosquito-infested pond.

This is the story of a God who changes lives. A God who came down the mountain so that we could be seated with Him in eternity. This is a story that proves that 2,000 years later, Jesus still saves.

Last Chapel 😢

While it’s hard for me to pick a favorite part of what it has meant for me to go to Cornerstone, being able to help lead our chapel services every Friday for the past three years is undoubtedly near the top of the list. This past week has begun the first of many lasts….I did my last assignment, wore a uniform for the last time, and played in my last house games, just to name a few. Today, however, when my classmates and I led worship at chapel for the final time, was by far the hardest. I know that as I go into this next week and get even closer to graduation, the lasts are only going to continue. But for now, I just want to say thank you to everyone who had a part in making chapels such a special part of my time at Cornerstone. Thank you to all the teachers and past students who gave me the opportunity to be involved in leading chapel in the first place. Thank you to all those who have sung or played alongside me this year and for making Friday mornings my favorite part of every week. You all mean more to me than you will ever know, and I’m so glad we were able to do this together. I love y’all. by @gradycamp26

There’s no better way to start a new year than joining together with 60,000 other people to uplift and glorify the name of God. More than anything else, these past two days have served as a beautiful reminder that God hasn’t stopped working, and He never will. He’s still moving today just as much as He was when He was walking on the earth, and He has amazing plans for not only 2022 but for the rest of eternity. When God’s people unite together and say that “the desire of our soul is for Your name and for the remembrance of You,” He will use us in ways that we never thought were possible. by @gradycamp26
