Its all about what "you" see. Every individual will interpret the same exact piece completely different. Depending on there interpretation of the piece, you can learn in depth & alot of insight about an individual. Its hard to explain but that's the beauty of art & the super natural gift we possess as artists. We create something out of nothing. I layered 🖌 it 3 times with 3 coats of black dye. Now that its dry its midnight dark. The dye is in there deep so if it rains or they get wet it won't come off. I brushed the the neubuck to bring the naps back up on the suede & to remove any excess dye. I can't even tell they was grey before 🙌 Now THIS is how I want them to look @Nike was on some malarkey with that grey color in these. It was to "bizzy" and not uniform. That slight suddle kiss of "Kente" print on the trim of midnight black is just right👌 This art 🎨 project came out ard.

The alcohol based suede dye seeps into the neubuck however I gotta take my time to carefully & evenly coat it with my paint brush 🖌. Let it sit & dry for 2 hours. Then come back & coat it again to get the deep, rich, dark midnight black color that I want 👌

The most important part is taping off & creating a "mask" on the canvas (Shoes) were I dont want the dye to go. Making sure to carefully go along the contours & crevices of the sole. This is crucial for clean straight lines. I'm using electric tape & not painters tape so the dye won't bleed through. I'm only exposing the grey newbuck suede parts.

The sole on my white Air Raid Urban Jungle Gym's crumbled & fell apart on me 🤦🏽. That was my 3rd pair & I wasn't gonna cop another pair ever again because I personally don't like the other color ways that @nike made. Then I thought to myself, I can just make my own & make them look how I want them to look.

I always wanted & loved the Original black color way Air Raids 2 from 1993. But nike never brought that particular color way back out & its impossible to get a wearable pair today. These the ones they retro'ed. I hate the grey inside of these so Ima change them.
