πŸŽ™οΈπŸ”ŠBEHIND THE SCENES: WHAT IT TAKES TO RUN A LIVE IN-STUDIO BROADCAST AT KFFR Ever wondered what goes into bringing a live music broadcast or in-studio candidate forum to your radio dial? Spoiler alert: it’s a whole lot more than just flipping a switch and talking into a mic! 🎚️⚑ A live broadcast in the KFFR studios is a full-blown audio balancing act. During an event, our crew isn't just monitoring one sound mix, we're actively dialing in 3 completely different sound environments simultaneously: πŸ“» On-Air Sound: Crisp, balanced audio sent out over the airwaves to 88.3 FM, 89.1 FM, our streaming platform for those who can't get signal, and the radio apps. πŸŽ™οΈ Recording Mix: High-quality multi-track audio captured for post-production and web archives. But not to mention our backup recording skimmer for when that may fail. πŸ”Š In-Studio Sound (Front of House): Live acoustic mix so guests can hear clearly in the room! On top of the soundboard wizardry, the team spends time transforming the studio space so it's welcoming for guest performers, civic candidates, and community audience members - this event was for a very small audience hence to small amount of seats, we've had up to 60 guests at a time! Our volunteer DJs also get training from staff on sending board controls seamlessly between the main DJ room, the Stage area, and the Production room. πŸŽ›οΈπŸ“» The bottom line? Just one hour of live broadcast can easily require a full day of staff and volunteer effort; from pre-event audio testing to post-production editing of individual microphone tracks! Huge thanks to our dedicated crew, and volunteer DJs! πŸ—³οΈ CHECK OUT THE FRASER TOWN TRUSTEES FORUM: Our latest multi-track setup was for the Fraser Town Trustees Forum! If you missed the live feed or want to dive into local civic issues, you can listen to the raw recording on our website right now πŸ‘‰ KFFR.org/Elections HOW TO TUNE IN TO KFFR: πŸ“» On the Dial: KFFR 88.3 FM & KWTR 89.1 FM πŸ’» Stream Live Anywhere: KFFR.org πŸ“± Radio Apps: Listen on Radio Garden or TuneIn! #KFFR #KWTR #BehindTheScenes #FraserTownTrustees #CommunityRadio by @grandcountyradio

πŸ‘» KFFR IS OFFICIALLY TAKING OVER THE WOODS, MOSTLY πŸ•οΈ We used to think the only things lurking in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests were pine martens, Sasquatch, and that one guy who insists on lurking in the willows while staring intensely at a pinecone...πŸ‘€ Turns out... it’s KFFR hats. They’re everywhere now. 🧒 Picture this: You’re deep in the backcountry. It’s October. The wind is howling through the lodgepole pines, making those deeply unsettling, ghostly noises that make you question every life decision that led you to sleep on the ground in a bag. πŸŒ²πŸŽƒ You reach for your trusty campfire acoustic guitar to play a soothing tune only to realize a snap button broke and it's out of tune anyway. Panic sets in. Is that a ghost behind that aspen tree? A bear? Phantom DJs Ryan and Brian?! Or worse. DJ Tony on 3 cups of coffee!? 😱 Jk DJs. Relax. Just pull your burnt orange KFFR hat low over your eyes, turn on your battery-powered radio (or fire up Radio Garden if you managed to snag a bar of service on a ridge), and blast 88.3 FM or 89.1 FM. πŸ“»πŸ”₯ Nothing wards off spooky forest specters quite like local community radio, high-altitude tunes, and the comforting realization that you're never truly alone in Grand County - we're right there in the woods with you, but in a good not lurking-creepy-staring-at-a-pinecone-kind-of-way! 🌲✨ YOUR BACKCOUNTRY SURVIVAL GUIDE: πŸ“» On the Dial: KFFR 88.3 FM & KWTR 89.1 FM πŸ’» Stream Live: KFFR.org πŸ“± Radio Apps: Listen on Radio Garden or TuneIn! 🧒 Ghost-Proof Swag: Grab your new hat by becoming a member at KFFR.org/donate ! πŸŽΈπŸŒ… DO YOU KNOW KFFR'S DANGER-SECRET IMPROV ACTOR? β˜•πŸ”₯ Introducing DJ Solly Mon. Your Saturday mornings are about to get significantly more chaotic (and vastly more energetic). πŸŽ™οΈβœ¨ Self-described as a "washed-up improv actor and hack guitar player," Solly Mon has somehow been handed the keys to the broadcast console to host The Dawn Patrol Morning Show. And honestly? We wouldn't have it any other way. 🎭🎸 WARNING: Instead of practicing his scales or landing an acting agent, he’s channeling that unhinged positivity and pure joy directly into the KFFR airwaves to wake up his friends, neighbors, and anyone within broadcast range. πŸ“»πŸ’₯ WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAWN PATROL: 🎸 A Heavy Dose of Rockers & Classic Rock: To shock your nervous system awake. 🀘 Pure 90s Grunge: Because nothing pairs better with black coffee than aggressive basslines. πŸšͺ The Ultimate Motivation: Guaranteed to get you off the couch, out the door, and exploring the high country! If you can tolerate a guy who thinks β€œYes, and…” is a personality trait and can almost play a full G-chord, tune in and let him kickstart your weekend! β˜•πŸ”οΈ WHEN: ⏰ When: Saturday mornings after Story Time from 7:15 AM – 9:00 AM HOW TO LISTEN: πŸ“» On the Dial: KFFR 88.3 FM exclusively πŸ’» Stream Live Anywhere: KFFR.org πŸ“± Radio Apps: Search KFFR on Radio Garden or TuneIn! #KFFR #KWTR #DJSollyMon #DawnPatrol #SaturdayMorning #ClassicRock #Grunge #ImprovLife #CommunityRadio #SupportLocalRadio #FraserCO #WinterParkCO #GranbyCO #GrandLakeCO #KremmlingCO #GrandCountyCO πŸŽΈπŸŒ…πŸ“»βœ¨ by @grandcountyradio
