Fall Community Celebration
October 10 | 1:00PM - 4:00PM
CAMH

About
Join us at our Fall Community Celebration for an afternoon of art-making activities inspired by CAMH’s current exhibitions.
Go on a scavenger hunt and explore the work on view at CAMH, write a note to snail mail to a friend, and learn more about the Junior School, Early College Program, and Studio School at The Glassell School of Art.

Live music by GOOD GRIEF and Apollo Chamber Players will accompany your experience at this event.

And remember, CAMH is one of FLATS newest film drop-off locations! Drop by our Community Celebration for artistic inspiration and to get your film developed in one trip!

Hands-On Activities
Scavenger Hunt for Themes and Objects
Explore the exhibition, Mary Ellen Carroll: How To Talk Dirty and Influence People, for objects related to the central themes of the exhibition and take home one-of-a-kind CAMH swag for completing the scavenger hunt.
Mindful Observation
Explore the exhibition Divination: Beverly Buchanan & Dionne Lee using mindfulness exercises to slow down your gaze.
Write A Postcard
Create a small work of art, or write a note on a postcard, to share with a friend. CAMH will mail out all postcards on your behalf.

This is a free, all-ages event.

If you’ve spent weekend night By The Wayside, you’ve probably seen Good Grief behind the turntables.

What you might not realize is how much thought went into every record sitting in those crates.

Cory, aka DJ Good Grief, is a collector first. He doesn’t show up with a playlist. He shows up with crates of vinyl he chose for this room, thinking about the place, the people who might walk through the door, what you might know, what you might not, and what might make you stop mid-conversation and go, “Oh shit, I remember this one.”

That’s exactly why he belongs here.

We care a lot about the way music is experienced By The Wayside. Musicians playing instruments in front of you. Records pulled from sleeves and put on turntables by hand. People in the room actually listening.

As Grief puts it, “Music transcends time.”

And every weekend, he curates a little world out of whatever he brought in the crates he hauled in.

DJ Good Grief • Vinyl every Friday + every other Saturday

Tell a friend. Be a friend. Come dance.
