Last year, @monalisasmilesatyou and I got to see @officialherbalpert in Chicago. It was BEYOND. Just magical. When he announced he was coming to Madison, we nabbed tickets again and brought @theadingo and @dazom77 along with us to experience the sheer joy of this show. I would do it again and again if I could. Herb Alpert is a treasure beyond measure! 🎺 by @grandmacyd

Half of my possessions are in storage, but you bet your rhinestone booties I made a special trip and braved the rodent poop to retrieve my Dolly Parton prayer candle. I was hoping not to need it for a very long time. 😔

May our billionaire tech bro oligarchs learn a thing or two from Dolly, who proved that wealth and compassionate generosity are not mutually exclusive.

Middays on Wisconsin Public Radio won't be the same (especially so after Larry Meiller retires on the 30th), but it was an honor to be there for Norman Gilliland's final broadcast yesterday, featuring pianist and birthday girl Ariela Bohrod.

I don't know a time when I didn't hear Norman's voice on Wisconsin Public Radio. Turning on the radio and hearing his voice is like coming home after a long day and cozying up on the couch-- he has been a mainstay in the lives of many, offering some sense of stability in an otherwise unpredictable world.

My first foray into public radio was board operating for "Old Time Radio Drama" on Sunday nights 20-some years ago. Norman and I became fast friends, and as many of you have recognized, his voice bears an uncanny resemblance to a certain North Pole helper who visits WSUM each December.

Congratulations, Norman, on your retirement. You've touched so many lives through your work as a radio host, author, and beyond. We'll never fully know the scope of your impact! taken in Wisconsin Public Radio by @grandmacyd

#Vinylthon is always a joy beyond measure. From the students at WSUM clearly playing their parents' records without fully understanding the dealio ("That was Miss Robinson by Simon & Garfunkel") to @djshotski taking us on an elevator ride up, up and away, the music is as magical as the community vibe that surrounds it. The treasures of #rsd2026 we may stumble upon along the way (like this catch from Charles Tolliver) are just an added bonus. Thanks to all who've tuned in to be part of the party! by @grandmacyd
