POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

hi friends! some of you have been riding with me long enough to recall the sound of my original grandtheft tunes on hype machine/blogs etc. well, over the past year i’ve found myself making a lot of disco and house music again.. so i’ve launched a new alias to release it all. if you like the sounds of this and enjoy good times, drop me a follow at —> 🟠 @iamkiinjo 🟠

today, this arc continues with two collaborations with @weareoliver on @chromeo imprint @julietrecords !! vaughn (oliver) and i have actually been hanging in studio and jamming on music together since like 2009-2010 and have never released any of it! this new project gives us an outlet to do so. i’ve also known the chromeo boys since wayyy back in montréal days (i think before they even formed the band?!)

i’m having SO much fun making this stuff and couldn’t be happier doing this release with these legends. hope y’all dig the sound 🤙

MEET ✨ROMI✨!!! (pronounced row-me). Our perfect boy was born Dec 9 at 12:49AM. He arrived unexpectedly early and really small so he needed to stay in the neonatal ICU since birth. It’s been such a magical time in our lives and also the toughest time for both of us.… but now he’s HOME! He’s the best and we are overflowing with love.

We chose to keep the pregnancy offline - just wanting to share the news and special moments with family and friends in person as we see them (which has been so fun and meaningful!)… In these times, it’s funny how much this surprises people when they don’t see your BIGGEST personal news online… As we are sure this catches some folks off guard here and now haha. Much love and happy new year - from our family to yours! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 taken in Toronto, Ontario by @grandtheft

Last night I ended up DJing with Bill Murray so here’s the story of how we got there on a Monday 😂

Diplo produced a movie called Riff Raff and he brought us to see the TIFF premiere yesterday afternoon. First off, BOMB film! Wild cool storytelling with Jennifer Coolidge, Gabrielle Union, Ed Harris… and Bill Murray all in top form.

1: B2B2B with Diplo and Bill Murray
2: The cast x Bill at the screening
3: Tyrone, Shamier and us at TIFF RBC afters
4-5: Did a Kiinjo kind of B2B with Diplo there
6: Blue Bovine cooked us steak differently
7-8: Bill Murray came to dinner and made us do tequila shots then got in the middle back seat of our SUV with Shaleen and Simon to go to the country bar. He yells at Diplo the whole time about the music in the ride. I told him his movie was cool but he seemed like a real asshole and he told me i’m good and he likes me 😂
9: arrive at Paris Texas
10-12: Bill hops right in booth to DJ with us and we bang out a set of rock and rap and all kinds of silly jams
13: Got sent this video of Biil freaking me

14-20: We get back in car and go to a third private after-after-afters at Mr Wolf where Diplo and I play afro house. Drake is vibing and Shamier jams with us at the end.

Thanks for having me rip all these song-for-song with you Diplo.. these eclectic sets were all clean!!! We been jamming forever but not many homies I’d wanna B2B all these different things in the same night. It’s only Monday but i think we may have won TIFF already?!!? I love DJing.

“What You Wanna Do” was featured in THE EQUALIZER on CBS! this second single from my Wild Ways album features memphis icons @dukedeuce x @missyeahoe and dropped exactly one year ago. it’s one of my favorites on the project.. a LOT went into making this record happen. still, it was kind of overlooked on streaming/playlists and i feel like people didn’t get to hear it. i can’t express how cool it is to witness this scene with the legend Queen Latifah and have people shazam the song a year later 😭 by @grandtheft
