Hey everyone! Here’s a couple choruses of @bradmehldauofficial ‘s solo on Brownie Speaks, originally a Clifford Brown tune. This one was definitely a challenge on guitar, especially simulating the left / right hand pianistic style. Trying to get back into posting more regularly, so stay tuned. Hope you enjoy!

Here’s a clip from the first time I saw John D’earth (@johndearthjazz) play a couple years ago at Miller’s Downtown in Charlottesville. In case you missed my last post, my trio, with Ponenya Min (@ponenyamin) on bass and Clay Cottis (@claycottismusic) on drums, will be featuring John tomorrow @tarbendersva 8-11 PM and Saturday @bluemontvineyard 5-8 PM. We are going to play a lot of great standards and originals and feature some special guests. Hope to see you there!

Hey everyone! I’m super excited to announce that I will be featuring amazing trumpeter, composer, and educator John D’earth at my next two dates: @tarbendersva 8/8 from 8-11 PM and @bluemontvineyard 8/9 from 5-8 PM. Ponenya Min (@ponenyamin) and Clay Cottis (@claycottismusic) will be joining us on bass and drums respectively.

John has been an inspiration to countless musicians through his time as Director of Jazz Performance at UVA. He has played with many timeless artists such as Buddy Rich, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Bob Moses, Eddie Gomez, and pop stars such as Dave Matthews and Bruce Hornsby.

Here is a short clip of John playing over my tune, “Snowfall,” this past semester during our UVA small group performance. We are really looking forward to creating some great music with John and we hope to see you there!

Had a great time playing at @bluemontvineyard this weekend with Donovan Claybrooks (@_donny_sax), Raghav Vasudeva (@zorg999999999), and Ponenya Min (@ponenyamin)!
