🎙️ Mars #9 Grant Weaver (@grant_weaver9) caught up with PA Lax News after @planetslax captured the 2026 PIAA 2A Boys State Championship with a 14-13 thriller over Penncrest at Panzer Stadium.

Weaver delivered a monster performance, scoring 7 goals on 14 shots. The Grove City (@grovecity_mlax) commit and former Iron City Black standout caught fire in the second quarter, scoring 4 goals during a 5-1 Mars run that gave the Planets an 8-5 halftime lead.

After recording 3 assists in the semifinal, Weaver stepped into a scoring role on the biggest stage and kept delivering as Mars battled through early adversity and multiple second-half lead changes.

He talked about the team’s preparation heading into the final, what it felt like when he got hot offensively, how Mars stayed composed in a back-and-forth championship game, and what he will carry from the Mars program into his next chapter.

One word: grit.

I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Grove City College. I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates who helped me get to where I am at today. I would also like to thank Coach Jernstedt and Coach Bennett for giving me this opportunity. #gowolverines 🔴⚫️ by @grant_weaver9
