I took a course a couple of years ago. It was set to reveal your unique purpose on the earth. Mine was to create inspiring environments. If my dad gave me the faith to inspire, my mom taught me the importance of an environment. The places I’ve gone, the moments I’ve experienced, the food I’ve tried, the joy I’ve found in beautiful things, the urge to experience and provide hospitality, and so so much more is because of her. I know what home is because of her. I’ve experienced the joy of receiving blessings because of her joy to give blessings. My mom has taught me how to ring the towel of life out until you’ve gotten to experience the fullness of it. I don’t know who I’d be or where I’d be if it had not been for the kindness of my mom. I don’t know where I’d be or who I would be if not for her care, whisper in my dad’s ear, willingness, and sacrificial love. Today we celebrate you mom. My mom set the guard rails to form in me the character needed to have a good reputation, and yet, she expanded my horizons to see and experience more than I ever could have imagined was possible. I’ve cried a lot of genuine tears of gratitude today. I’m grateful I had a grandfather who loved me, and who I got to know. I have so many great memories with Papa. Riding the fork lift, driving the Corvette and listening to Garth Brooks, and all of the times he told me how proud he was of me. I am so grateful that he doesn’t have to struggle anymore. I’m so grateful I know he had placed his faith in Jesus. I’ll never forget the day in the garage where we talked that decision through. And I’m grateful he is now fully alive. Death is just an address change. God is always good. And God is always our friend in death. If we believe what we say we really believe, there is no greater day than the one where we close our eyes here and open them to the presence of God. taken in Angleton, Texas by @grantkglaze
