Lately I’ve been photographing women in my life who don’t feel like themselves anymore.

A close friend of mine, in her 50s, said something similar — that she doesn’t feel beautiful anymore.

My sister is 65. She told me she doesn’t feel seen the way she used to.

So I did what I know how to do.

I brought them into the light and photographed them.

Not to change them.
Not to make them into something they’re not.

Just to show them what I already see.

Both of these women are still incredibly beautiful.

Sometimes we just need to be reminded.
