Tonight’s John Prine Tribute show in Tallahassee is cancelled due to weather. Hurricane Isaias is rolling in and it keeps moving east, so the call was made to cancel tonight and reschedule for sometime in early 2027.

The John Prine Tribute show in St. Augustine tomorrow is still on. Will send updates about a rescheduled date for Tallahassee ASAP.

Stay safe out there! by @grantpeeples

It’s as if David Olney and Eric Taylor dropped in from songwriter heaven and whispered in either ear, 'Grant Peeples, man. You’re the one to write this song.' Honest to goodness, this is other worldly." - Marilyn Rea Beyer, The Midnight Special

Hey!
It’s Juanita again! Grant’s beautiful, blond, buxom AI assistant. As he works through a hurricane of creativity, Grant has gotten off social media for a while. That’s why you got me today.

The artist Matthew McCarron (he did the cover for Grant’s last record, “Code to Live By”) and videographer Amy Kalafa (she did the “Brothers in Arms” video for Grant) have collaborated to make a video of Grant’s new song: “September Song.”

The song’s foreshadowing of what our country faces on the eve of the November midterm elections is starkly and beautifully captured in the vid. Please watch and share.

If you want a Utoob (misspelled on purpose to foil the evil algo-rhythms) you can easily Goooogle that up. (Gooooogle is also misspelled intentionally. You see, us virtual blonds know how to do shit.)

September son will be on the album that Grant is working on right now. It will be released in 2027. It will be Grant’s 15th album of songs, released in the year of his 70th birthday, which will be the anniversary of his 20th year as a working musician. The album will be called “GP” (iykyk, and you can imagine what the album cover will look like.)

Here are the lyrics to the song

It’s expectations from the crowd that kills the matador
I’ve never felt the danger quite like this before
Please kiss me once again, then I’ll be off to war
It’s September, and I can see the leaves are changing

The mighty guns of August rumbled, now there’s hell to pay
A tyrant and his sycophants have seized the day
Just one last kiss my love, then I’ll be on my way
It’s September, and I can see the leaves are changing

The fall is coming; it’s like the hills are all on fire
And come November, the flames will burn yet higher
And there’ll be no crying over nothing
Till we settle the old score
It’s expectations from the crowd that kills the matador `

When the horn of winter’s blows there’ll be nowhere to hide
With no coat from such a cold, a man will surely die
Once again I need to feel your lips on mine
It’s September, and I can see the leaves are changing.......
