“The Fastest Track South of Hayward”- Russ Werner Field

Russ Werner Field is more than just the home of the Grants Pass Track & Field team. It has served as the beacon of the sport of Track & Field in Grants Pass for decades. The storied history of the facility includes the introduction of The Fosbury Flop to the world, hosting the longest-running track and field invitational in Oregon, countless records broke, championship meets held, community events, and most importantly- lasting memories for the thousands of athletes and families that have set foot inside it’s gates over its years.

“We Run GP” is more than a team motto. It’s a celebration of the past, and a statement for the future.

This new surface is the start of a new chapter in the story of this facility, and our program. What history will be made here? What performances will we witness together on this track? What memories will we share?

Only time will tell.

Week 2 of the second phase of GPP. Mechanical drilling, acceleration pattering from a variety of positions and angles in addition to tempo work to continue to build work capacity.

Fall General Preparation Period (GPP) is underway! Building the foundation these last few weeks to adapt soft tissues, increase work capacity, and prepare for the upcoming work.

Individualized, movement-based progression is the focus.
