The main conservatory glass house at New York Botanical Gardens is such an impressive piece of architecture, it was both an exciting and daunting prospect designing a Van Gogh inspired site specific artwork for this expansive space.

Our process began by recreating Van Gogh’s Irises in our own visual language. Usually our artwork is made up of flat colours emulating depth through tone and composition, but for these we created more sculptural forms using the directional broken line work that Van Gogh employed. We also used opposite primaries for the back and foreground to emphasise the abstract forms.

We then created a series of huge lit columns (the tallest was nearly 23 feet tall) that alluded to the New York skyline, and blew our drawing up to the scale of the huge palms, so that the irises would blend and fold with these magnificent plants.

The reflections in the water and imagery on the floor are all designed to immerse the viewer and invite further contemplation.

New Nature. Vast canvases of vibrant buzzing nature, draping and overwhelming industrial scale halls.

@graphic_rewilding urban spaces and projecting an alternative reality. Hacking happiness by punching through to our inate desire for nature, so often missing from our fast city existence.

Little explorers, big adventures. 🌸

A look back at the families who joined us for ByKidO’s Children’s Day outing at Bloomyard — filled with swings, games and plenty of play among the blooms.

Just a few days left to experience it for yourself. Bloomyard closes 25 October!

SUPER BLOOM by @graphic_rewilding - 2 years in the making, 50 hand drawn plants and pollinators, not to mention hundreds of hours 3D modelling the gardens and artworks to truly understand the audience experience. Open @dbgphx until May 2027. by @graphic_rewilding

GLASSHOUSE - FUSCIA MEDALLIONS, 2026 by @graphic_rewilding

The beautiful tiny Ocotillo flowers in the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts are often missed as they sit atop clusters of long, whip-like, spiny stems reaching 3-6 metres tall.

Although it’s often mistaken for a cactus, it isn’t one.
For most of the year the stems look bare and dead, but within days of a good rain they sprout small green leaves, then in spring the tip of each stem bears a spear of brilliant red-orange, tubular flowers that attract hummingbirds and native bees.

On this desert project across the whole of @dbgphx , our focus has been on the flowers that are often missed because they perhaps bloom only at night, or even only once in a lifetime, or they are too small to notice. By creating these hummingbird’s eye view artworks we are drawing attention to these unsung heroes of the desert. by @graphic_rewilding

‘Glasshouse, Violet Hour’ 2026

For 2.5 years we’ve been working with Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens @dbgphx on 22 public artworks across 55 acres that celebrate and magnify the extraordinary world of Sonoran Desert plants and pollinators.

After numerous research visits, sketching, lidar scanning and measuring the complex of pathways and structures, as well liaising with their team of curators, scientists and educators we set out to do what we do best… DRAW & BUILD.

Cacti, Aloes, Agaves, Trees, Wildflowers and Pollinators hand drawn and composed into our microscopic maximalist sculptural world.

A huge huge thank you to @bestsofphoenix & @jailbirdy for your collaborative brilliance and diligence!

SUPER BLOOM - Open now through May 2027 by @graphic_rewilding

Our BLOOMYARD exhibition is showing alongside David Hockney’s BIGGER & CLOSER show at IMBA THEATRE, SINGAPORE. Excited is an understatement!

It’s always a truly amazing feeling to see our imaginings, conversations, drawings and 3D renders become a reality. Watching people interact with our artwork, laughing, playing, contemplating and relaxing is incredibly rewarding.
