🐾 Jimothy: The Perfect Little Guy

Are you looking for an all‑around good boy? Meet Jimothy!

This 9.5‑pound, 2‑year‑old sweetheart might start off a bit shy, but give him five minutes and he’ll be your best friend for life. BFFL:

Jimothy is:

🐶 Great with his canine foster brother and human foster brother so dog and child friendly!

🐾 Soft‑coated and snuggly — his short red fur feels like velvet

🚶‍♂️ Excellent on leash walks

💤 Lap‑nap enthusiast

💛 Housetrained

And a budding SUPER MODEL! Jimothy was perfect during the photo shoot with the @cafirehawksrugby People are gonna want his PAWtograph!

Jimothy is happiest when he’s part of the action — running errands with his foster mom or hanging out with his furry buddy. While Jimothy does fine when left with his dog friend, he’s hoping for a forever home where he won’t be alone too often.

Jimothy is the kind of pup who makes every day brighter — loyal, loving, and perfectly sized for cuddles.

He’s ready to be your little shadow and your lifelong friend. 🌟

Minnie Mouse needs a foster home!

Minnie Mouse is about 3 years old and a bit chunky at 8.5 pounds.

Minnie was really freaked out and quite shut down for the first few days at the shelter. Despite the adorable dress/harness combo she was wearing, she did not feel up for social engagements. She was definitely grieving the loss of all that's familiar to her.

Today, she was a bit hesitant to come out for her eval, and then when she did, wow did she bond quickly. She is desperate to find herself a new person to love her and to be loved on. She has been in a staff office with three other chihuahuas today and did great - all she wants to do is find a lap to cuddle in. She became velcro in very short order!

Minnie seems like she would be a pretty easy foster - she appears housetrained, she gets along well with other small dogs, might be fine with cats too. She really just wants to find a person to glom onto and follow around, bless her little heart.

Have you always felt your Grateful Dogs alum should be on a calendar? We need half a dozen GDR alum for a photo shoot in San Francisco on this Sunday morning, October 11th. We are still nailing down the details on where the photo shoot will be but we plan to be well away from the fleet week crowds. Your dog, if small, should be social enough for someone else to hold in the photo. Please let us know by messaging or emailing info@gratefuldogsrescue.org if your dog wants to be in a calendar!

Jimothy needs a foster home!

Jimothy is about 4 years old and 9.5 pounds. The shelter is calling this little guy Jimothy because he doesn't have much of a neck and his body does sorta resemble the famous raccoon. Jim was found as a stray around 16th and Mission, and no one came to claim him, so he is looking for a new start on life.

This gentle guy is so great when he has a chance to hang out in a staff office - he's housetrained and quiet and gets along great with other dogs. He's definitely overwhelmed at the shelter but he's never been rude or naughty at all. He's a sweet guy and an easy keeper.

Suzie Q needs a foster home!

Sweet Suzie Q is not loving the shelter environment one bit! She's so overwhelmed with the shelter noises and loud chaos of the cleaning that all she can do is sit on her bed and tremble. When she got a break from the kennel yesterday, she actually moved around a bit and decided that snuggling with the person wasn't so bad. The shelter is a lot for a dog who's never been institutionalized and we were really happy to see she found comfort in the cuddles and quiet space we offered her.

This darling little lady would really love to get out of the shelter and in a foster based rescue and her being a tender chihuahua. Well at 23 pounds, we're not quite sure that Chihuahua is the right breed to call her.

Muffin is HOME. 💛

This shy 14‑year‑old sweetheart lost her adopter when he passed away. They has spent nearly 8 years as a family when she came back to us… but life had another beautiful chapter waiting.

Monica met her, fell in love instantly, and Muffin — in her quiet, gentle way — let herself be loved again. Monica loved her because of her shyness and her frosted face!

Zooey has an announcement!

Oh my goodness...the cuteness is overwhelming!
