👻🎃💀Happy Halloween from GRAVE INTENTIONS! 💀🎃👻

We hope the tricks are funny and the treats are plentiful! by @graveintentionsanthology

Day 31: SET ON HALLOWEEN

It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally Halloween! 👻🎃💀 Although, isn’t it pretty much Halloween every day in our hearts?

There are so many great horror movies set on Halloween, but we’re going with TRICK ‘R TREAT (2007) because we love anthologies.

When we decided to make our own, we watched a bunch of horror anthologies as research rather than just for fun (although it was STILL fun!), and TRICK ‘R TREAT was definitely a treat. The stories weaved together in a fun way, the performances were strong, and we’re suckers for dark humor. Plus, Sam as the personification of Halloween is both adorable and scary - scadorable?

Which of the tales in TRICK ‘R TREAT was your favorite?

🔮 🔮 🔮

While GRAVE INTENTIONS is not set on Halloween, tonight is a great time to watch the spooky Madam Josephine share magical lessons as she introduces each dark short film. Find our anthology of chills, thrills, and kills, on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

Have a fantastic Halloween!

Day 30: KID FRIENDLY FRIGHT

When we were checking out people’s posts for the PG-13 prompt, we saw a lot of picks for THE MONSTER SQUAD (1987) and were kind of bummed that we didn’t think of it because we loved it as kids. Since then, we’ve been itching for a rewatch of the cult classic, so today’s pick was a no-brainer!

“Wolfman’s got nards!” is an iconic line, but there are so many memorable moments from the movie. Which moment is your favorite?

🔮 🔮 🔮

Unfortunately, GRAVE INTENTIONS is not kid friendly, since several of the shorts have very intense scenes. But once the kids are in bed, check out our anthology of chills, thrills, and kills on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

Day 29: FAVORITE FRANKENSTEIN

Obviously our favorite Frankenstein is played by Wishbone in the episode “Frankenbone.”🐶❤️

But since that’s not a horror movie, and we haven’t had a chance to watch Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN (2025) yet, we’re finally going to watch it for our pick today.

With Poe from Star Wars as a mad scientist and Jacob Elordi pretending to be hideous, it should be an interesting watch. Just wish it was a bit shorter!

Did you watch “Wishbone”? What’s your favorite character Wishbone plays?

🔮 🔮 🔮

A kind of reverse Frankenstein happens in GRAVE INTENTIONS. In one of the shorts, “The Disappearance of Willie Bingham,” the main character is being punished for a crime by having parts of his body removed one at a time. The parts are not sewn back together, but they DO create a kind of monster. Check it out in our anthology of chills, thrills, and kills, on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

Day 28: BIG OLD HOUSE

The house in HOUSE OF ABRAHAM (2025) is definitely big, although we’re not sure if it’s old. In fact, it looks pretty modern, but hoo boy is it creepy! Not like haunted house creepy, but creepy because of the unsettling things happening inside of it.

Here’s the IMDB description: “A woman looking for an end to her suffering, checks in to the House of Abraham, home to a mysterious cult that promises a way out. She soon discovers all is not what it seems and must plan an escape before it’s too late.”

Lukas Hassel plays the creep-tastic Abraham, and we actually watched it because of him. Lukas was the writer-director of the short “The Son, the Father” in our anthology (he also played the Father). He told us earlier this year that he’d written and starred in a new movie, so we were excited to watch it.

HOUSE OF ABRAHAM is a tough watch because of the subject matter, but it’s an unnerving psychological horror with 😳👀😱 plot twists and great performances, especially from Lukas, Natasha Henstridge, and Lin Shaye.

Have you seen this indie film yet?

🔮 🔮 🔮

If you want to see Lukas Hassel in yet another house where unsettling things happen, check out GRAVE INTENTIONS on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

Day 27: BEST OF THE ’20s (SO FAR)

This was the toughest one by far!

If it was favorite of the 20’s, we would have picked our movie, GRAVE INTENTIONS. We worked so hard to bring it to life, and we are so proud of what we created. But despite loving it, we’re realistic enough to know it’s not a contender for BEST.

And as we scrolled through best of lists, we were basically muttering the whole time, “Definitely that one ... no, no, it’s this one ... well, actually, it’s this one!”

And of course there’s the question of what makes it a horror movie the BEST? The one that scared you the most? The fun you had watching it? The most unsettling one? The one that sticks with you for days or even weeks?

So it was tough, but forced to pick just one, we’re going with SINNERS (2025). Fantastic acting, characters you care about, a layered story, great music, but the thing that pushed it over the edge was that amazing one-shot. It’s a gorgeous sequence, which we’ve watched too many times to count.

How did you pick your BEST OF THE ’20s?

Day 26: IT CAME FROM THE SEWER

We can't remember if we watched ALLIGATOR (1980) when we were kids or if we just heard the urban legend about baby alligators in the sewer so many times while growing up that it feels like we did.

But since it stars Robert Forster, it's the perfect pick for us because he was in "The Bridge Partner," the first short in our horror anthology. And we're so ready to watch some totally tubular 80s horror!

🔮 🔮 🔮

If you want to check out Robert Forster in our anthology of chills, thrills, and kills, find GRAVE INTENTIONS on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

Day 25: STONERS

We've seen THE CABIN IN THE WOODS (2011) picked for several different prompts this month, and every time we're like, "Oh, yeah, that's such a fun movie, we totally need to watch it again."

So we finally are!

Fran Kranz's Marty is the stoner who's supposed to be "The Fool," but he flips the script on the stereotype. And the whole movie is a blast as it subverts and satirizes horror tropes.

So which stereotypical character would you be if you found yourself starring in a horror movie?

🔮 🔮 🔮

Madam Josephine is a huge fan of herbs - she even explains how to use them for magical purposes in one of her short film intros. Learn all about it in GRAVE INTENTIONS, an anthology of chills, thrills, and kills! Watch on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

Day 24: JOCKS

We once again consulted the google machine for ideas for this prompt. We saw one called ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE (2013) that we'd never heard of, so we looked it up on IMDB.

Here's the synopsis: "A rebel girl signs up a group of cheerleaders to help her take down the captain of their high school football team, but a supernatural turn of events thrusts the girls into a different battle."

The trailer looks like ridiculous fun, so we're going to give it a go!

Have you seen ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE? Should we pivot and rewatch of The Faculty instead? 😆

🔮 🔮 🔮

The ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE trailer shows a witch using crystals in a spell to resurrect the cheerleaders. Madam Josephine gives a lesson about crystals in one of her introductions, and she would be disappointed to see them used to raise the dead because *of course* there will GRAVE INTENTIONS. Watch Madam Josephines warnings on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

Day 23: PUNKS

We picked THE LOST BOYS (1987) for today's prompt, but now that we think about it, we're not sure if the vampire gang were punks or goths. Gunks? Poths? Whatever, Jocelyn was just looking for an excuse to rewatch THE LOST BOYS!

As a tween, she was obsessed with both Coreys (RIP Corey Haim) AND with vampires. Add in the hotness of Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland, and her poor hormone-drenched brain almost melted (as did her VHS tape after so many viewings)!

We haven't rewatched it in over 20 years, so we're looking forward to seeing how it holds up!

Which Coreys team-up movie is your favorite? And why is it The Lost Boys? 😜

🔮 🔮 🔮

There are no actual punks in GRAVE INTENTIONS, but there are several characters that would make an elderly man mutter, "What a punk!" Give it a watch on @tubi, @primevideo, and more. Link in bio.

31 days of Halloween day 22 Goths I decided to support some independent Horror movies for the next few. I love a horror anthology so wanted to check out Grave Intentions. 5 shorts with one wrap around. I really liked how different each story was it gave me slight ABCS of death vibes. With different styles and tones. #independenthorror #31daysofhorror #31daysofhalloween #horroranthology @graveintentionsanthology @nightmareonfilmstreet by @graveintentionsanthology

Day 22: GOTHS

We're going to use today to finally watch the 2024 version of THE CROW.

We were pretty meh when we saw there was going to be a ... remake? sequel? reimagining? whatever! ... but a Skarsgård brother almost always makes for a fun watch.

And since it seems like this version of Eric is more emo that goth (and the IMDB score is pretty low 😬), we're going enjoy a goth dessert by rewatching the original THE CROW (1994).
