have a journal and put something in it everyday. Put something ugly in it , put something pretty in it, write about how much you hate your job or how much you love the tree across the street from you. learn cursive if you never did, practice it if you did. copy someone else’s art, rip pages out, tape pages in, don’t ever sensor yourself, keep trash or flowers pressed between pages. If the spine breaks or rips open, tape it back together with duck tape, or tie it closed with a shoelace. re-read it all almost never. close the book, it keeps it hidden. spill your coffee on it, ash your joint over it, let your friends doodle in it while you talk at a bar. Everything you put in there is right. If you feel like it’s wrong, tape that page to the next one so you never have to see it again and move on. here’s some of my good and also some of my bad papers in mine from january ‘24 to now. the rest (not pictured) holds my “Dear diary” this, “Dear diary” that. My eyes only. And yours can be yours. love u ty by @gray.priestaf

if u have more than one piece going at once. you can do tests for one on the other and when u get tired of one just go back to working on the other. also good for waiting for paint to dry on one. here’s two i have going right now. pretty different. weird. by @gray.priestaf
