Happy Birthday Ol’ Man!! Today is your special day and you turned the big 85. I hope you had the best party with all of the family that has crossed over and I hope you got to share your cake and ice cream with Jesus ( I know how you love cake and ice cream 😉). We are still here maintaining but you know that because you’re always right here. I miss your physical presence some days are better than others but all days your absence is felt and deeply missed. Your words of encouragement given or sent along with your incredible smile is the hardest when I need it most but then I get still and you send a message. Thank you for being my dad, for always being a man of your word and always always always watching over and protecting us. I love & miss you sooo much!! Happy Birthday Da!! 😘🍻🎂#jellytoastthough 😂 by @graygirlcreative

Just where do you start with some shit like this?! I’m beyond angry, I’m beyond sadden, I’m at a vengeful place and not in a God’s wrath way. This hurts and honestly I wish I could take back watching the video. Not to be unaware or uninvolved but so I won’t have the last moments of George’s life etched on my mind for the rest of my life. So I can get the sound of him begging for his life and calling out to his momma out of my soul. He was my brother connected by skin color among many other things and you stole what wasn’t yours to take just because of his beautiful skin but really it’s the hate of your own. See this hates lives where greatness thrives and they hate that greatness so they fight to oppress it and claim superiority over something they fear. Does that even make sense?! Sadly not many of us can say we’ve never dealt with racism. I’ve dealt with racism and dealing with it. Like being a token at work until a shiny new one arrives and they try to now stop your shine or a neighbor that hates this black girl for “having it all” saying “if they try to rob me I’ll tell them to come rob you” and thinking that shit is funny or driving down the street hearing white men in a pickup truck yell “you f’d a Nigger Bitch” and cower down when they realize I was recording them. This shit exist because they see who we truly are and I get that and so my response is to take my anger and the vengeance and give them what they are scared of. We don’t need them to be great, they need us. Understand your power, harness that shit and move before they seek to snuff it out. Be anger, be pissed, but stop talking and do something, build something to grow our communities, invest what and where you can, start with this one thing sign the petition. It should have reached 3 million by now. Spread the word once you do. #justiceforgeorgefloyd #blacklivesmatter by @graygirlcreative

Showing up for myself today and giving my creativity a jolt in a different way. Was feeling the slump so I got up, dressed up and showed up and had a few laughs at myself. by @graygirlcreative
