So the second half of the Coil Packs in the Cowl vents. Put some Standoffs on the bottom of the cowl for the Coil pack mounting plate. Solidly Tac’d in the Base Trim with pressed in nuts, later used 2k bonding body sealer back fill and smooth out the transition. Added a Beauty Trim to the Top plate and used Allen button head screws to secure the removable plate for access. by @grayharemustang

Well Been on the Summer Trip so got a bit behind on posts. So We are going with the MSD DIS Coil Near Plug set up. Wanted to eliminate the Distributor & the Wires from the front of the Engine and the Wires from Laying over the Blue Thunder Valve Cover that are planned for the Engine. To further not to cover the Valve covers the Coil are going to be Hidden in the Cowl that is Now Sealed up since converting to Vintage Air AC & repurposing the fresh air ducts for Speaker pods. I’ll break this up to two post… First the idea, the Draft, trimming the cowl grills and the Send Cut Sent pieces. by @grayharemustang

Ok, so I’m going with the Vintage Air Gen V, bought the Mock up unit. Cool thing with the Mock up unit it comes with a working Mega fan and three Servo’s so a good deal. Anyway when installing a Vintage Air system it requires the fresh air vents to be blocked off. So I decided instead of wasting that space, I would repurpose it for an audio system. As you might recall I made a Radio Delete plate and integrated a Brake Bias knob. Well this Audio system will be completely hidden. The 6.5” Woofer will be mounted into the Fresh air vents, the tweeters will reside where the old 3x5 speaker use to go. The Amp with be tucked away never to be seen. I eliminated the need for Radio head unit by using a Blue tooth adapter so it will connect to my Phone and stream music from Spotify or Pandora. If you recall I had already removed the Lower cowl hat, then I removed the lower cowl flange that the fresh air ducts used. Then I removed the rest of the Flange from the hat. It was a bit of work, I hope it will all cooperate. by @grayharemustang

Well it’s looks as if I fell asleep at the wheel on any new post….but after I finished up the Radio delete and the Glove box mods….I went after a Reconfig of the Gauge cluster, Cigarette lighter delete, Ash tray delete, climate control delete, moved the Head light & Wiper switches in board closer to the steering column, that gave me room to add My Throttle Blade AC vents. by @grayharemustang

Alright, since I’m been under the dash, I start to modify the front of the Dash. Going for a bare bones Race car vibe. Start by throwing the thick heavy Glove box door in the trash. Cut away the hinge support, latch mount and the excess sheet metal on the ends of the opening. Made a simple cover out of ABS heated it up and contoured it to follow the concave shape of the dash. Use a coupe of Camloc butterfly quarter turn fasteners to hold in place and to give easy access to some future electronics. Moved on to the Hacked hole of the AM radio. So keeping to the Bare bones vibe, decided to go with a Radio delete panel, but oversize but similar vibe to help deal with the previously hacked hole and decided to make it useful by mounting the Brake Bias Adjustment Knob to it. I’ll move on to the Gauge cluster and some more mods next. by @grayharemustang

Ok, so had to come up with a solution for the Original pedal box brace. The Wilwood pedal assembly is mucho wider. I’ve seen different ways to do it. I chose to replicate close to what it Was. 1/8 plate folded up to a main box, then an extension folded and welded to the box that will tie into the Dash & steering column, like the Original. Overall turned out alright. Needed to notch the Windshield Wiper Mount to clear the new oversized pedal box. While I was at it, updated the Wiper motor from a 1 speed to a DSE 7 speed. You can see the blue circle where the pedal box will, when removed for servicing, will clear the Wiper Mount. by @grayharemustang

Ok a While back I cut out the Master cylinder mounting area out, to Fit the #wilwoodbrakes Pedal assembly. It’s a triple MC set up. Clutch & Individual Front and Rear MC’s & Reservoirs. The Brake Pedal has the Balance Bar which allow for Mechanical adjustment Bias via a remote mount Adjustment Knob. Initially attempt was mounting the Wilwood Firewall plate to the Flat Firewall, but quickly realized that there was No support and the firewall FLEXED. So with the Magic of #sendcutsend and QCAD I came up with a flanged firewall mounting box. To be welded in from the inside. What a Difference it made in stiffening up the firewall. You know I got a soft spot for #mooneyesusa and picked up a Triplet of MC reservoirs and mounts. Made a mount with the help of SendCutSend again and got it All done up. I Happy with the outcome. Next will be working on the inside to see how I will figure out a new Pedal assembly Brace from the Firewall to the dash. by @grayharemustang

Ok, after taking care of the Trans Tunnel, Seat platform & Inner rockers, It was time to figure out what I was going to need to do for a T56 Transcross member. The old Trans Tunnel brace was replaced with the Dynacorn 6sp version, but it had to go on a diet to allow the T56 to sit at 2° or less. The T56 Transmount pad sits back several more inches than a Top loader/T5 or TKX. So I had to figure out something. Came across The Rodster Shop SPEC Chassis idea, and felt I might be able to do something similar Thur Card Board Aided Design (CAD). The Subframe connectors doublers gave some good foundation to Created some hangers to weld on. Made some thread plates as my hardware anchors. Also need to trim a little more for the Headers to clear the trans tunnel brace, the less than 2° drive train angle brought the headers up tight. You’ll see at the end the belly of that big T56 is tucked up above the rails. The Bell housing is actually the lowest point now. by @grayharemustang

Ok, on to the seating. Picked up a set of custom made Ultra Shield seat specifically made for Pat & I. Using Kerkey seat brackets and DSE sliders. The DSE sliders are very tactile, uses push pin and the seat can come right out. This combo is about the lowest I could get the bottom of the seat to the seat pan. You can see that the One piece seat pan had to be sectioned to fit the raised trans Tunnel. Although the seat pans are 1” lower than Stock, it still wasn’t enough for me. So hand made custom pans were the way I had to go. They are about 2” lower than the Original pan. In order to gain more adjustment, the new set will need to be extended about 3” to the rear. The thur bolt design for seat mounting was tossed for Blind Nuts, so removing the seats and sliders will be easy now. When all said and done at 6’2” I have about 5” of head clearance and 3” additional of Leg room. by @grayharemustang

Ok so the Trans Tunnel has been raised 2” so the One piece 1” lower seat pan needed to be sectioned. Clearly some mods will be needed to connect it all back together, But after a quick Mock up with a seat, my Head is still in the roof…so I put the seat pan on hold and decided if I have to get radical with seat pan, It’s time to put in Convertible Inner Rockers and finish off Front Torque Boxes…While at it, add in some channels to run parallel with the Sub frame connectors for the Brake & Fuel Line to be tucked up away from Road debris. by @grayharemustang

It’s about MoonEyes Today. 2017 saw MoonEyes at SEMA, ask about doing a custom overflow tank, they said Sure. Ended up going a different direction on that. 2018 visited MoonEyes SantaFee Springs. Spotted Brake Reservoir tanks and knew I wanted to incorporate them in my Build. Before Shelby was doing Mustangs, he built one of his First Cobras at Dean Moons shop. So I thought it would be kinda period correct to have a Moon product in the build. Fast forward a few more years and I was ready for a Sealed Catch Can. I contacted Chico @mooneyesusa. I mentions that they had a 1Qt Tank they listed as a Prop Tank for Peddle Cars that was functional as well. Since it was about the same size as most Catch Cans I asked if he’d be willing to try to make a Sealed PCV Catch Can out of one. A Few month later here we are. They liked it so much it is Now a New Product for them, a MoonEyes Original. Kinda Cool to be part of that. Thanks Chico. #mooneyesusa #mooneyesjapan #mooneyes by @grayharemustang

Ok Well, left off with not feeling the Hump to driveline tunnel transition so I started cutting. Made some adjustments to the pitch. Used the old hacked shifter hole templet to see where things lined up….Not too far off from a Peanut 3sp to the T56 6pd location. Tossed in the Joes Racing boot and frame….had to do a little Ditch Bank Okie Fab’n to clean up the appearance. The under side gives an idea of what has been going on. More to come as this just requires more work now on the One piece seat pan. by @grayharemustang
