About a year and a half ago I found Duke in a rough animal hoarder house and Byron and I knew we couldn’t leave him there without trying to keep him or rehome him (also @byrontheeditor had been begging me for a cockatoo which I reallllyyyy didn’t want)
After keeping him for a few months he was very feisty and then he got suuuper sick and we didn’t know if he would make it. The vets didn’t know what was wrong with him but he miraculously pulled through. Anyone who’s rescued a cockatoo knows it took a lot of bites and screaming fits to get here but I love my lil guy!

TLDR: don’t dump animals!!!
Byron and I found this poor baby lost and wet in our neighborhood last month. We were surprised by how friendly and well-trained she was! After searching for her owners, we unfortunately couldn’t find any leads other than a microchip with the owner’s name erased (leaving us to assume she was dumped😢)

We named her Winter, and she has a forever home now with us

The rate of animal dumping in North Florida is insane! Please don’t abandon animals ever. Thank you to all our super helpful friends, family and neighbors taken in Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve by @graymetalveronica

My baby bats🦇
Fun fact (and a sad one): black rabbits are among the least adopted, much like black cats.
They often get overlooked for lighter or “flashier” bunnies, but these shadowy sweethearts are just as loving, silly, and full of personality.
Wednesday, Shadow and Beauty make me the happiest bunny mommy🖤Happy Halloween!
