The most magical 24hrs was meeting @ambergxo_ with @grazbphoto and lounging by the pool at @atlantisthepalm, then the next day shooting this for @vanguardmagok after a dune buggy ride and sand surfing. Great ending the day with the best meal ever!

I produced and modeled in this editorial for Mob Journal and called it Room 217, after the middle school I went to in Queens. It ended up being a full circle fever dream and a love letter to my teen years, indie sleaze, chaotic nights, and the soft messy moments in between.

I started high school in 2012 during peak Tumblr era. Think Skins, Crystal Castles, American Apparel, grainy flash, hipster chaos. Last year I rewatched Skins, threw myself an indie sleaze themed 26th birthday, and got deep into nostalgia. I think it’s because this is the first year I’ve really felt like, “Damn, I’m a full grown woman now.”

I wanted this shoot to feel like the energy I used to romanticize when I was younger. Back then I thought adulthood would be wild and unhinged, but honestly the most chaotic part of my life was being 14 to 16 with no curfew, growing up in NYC. My life really did feel like an episode of Skins. Now I get to dress like Effy when I go raving and actually use my substances safely... growth.

Over the past couple years I’ve gotten really into techno and raving and that definitely found its way into the lighting, energy, and feel of this shoot.

We made something I’m really proud of. It feels like mine.

Also shoutout to my partner @grazbphoto who had hotel credits and casually said, “Let’s shoot.” Of course it turned into my entire baby. He had an idea, I ran with it, and he brought it to life with the lighting and his impeccable framing. No assistants, just us... sixteen hours later.
