I asked Jesus to paint with me ❤️
What I thought was an abstract painting just having fun talking to our creator turned into Jesus face with a slain lamb. He never ceases to amaze me. You are good You are good ❤️❤️❤️ I think I will keep inviting Him into more of my moments and spaces and watch what He creates, redeems & breathes into my life!

⭐️ John 14:6 ⭐️

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

This verse gives me the image of the coolest nightclub in the world but Jesus is the bouncer with his shades 😂🥹😍 You can’t get in the club without going through Him. A lot of people believe in a creator but deny his son - I have foolishly been this person!!! Thankful for TRUTH! Day 3 of making art and yappin’ even when it terrifies me 😂😍 I paraphrased my favorite line from the story of Esther. I can only imagine how terrified she was multiple times but she didn’t let that stop her! 👑 I would also assume she felt like a fish out of water and staysss swimming against the current!

If you are unfamiliar with this story like I was I’ll give you my summary — I am 0% a theologian so feel free to call me out if I’m wrong!! Okay, first off her parents died 😳 then she was adopted by her cousin Mordecai a Jewish exile in Persia (aka Iran). At that time King Xerxes (supaaa rich n powerful) was married to Vashti, probably a badddieee, but she said you ain’t the boss of me to the King so his gang gang said bro get riddd of her we will give you access to every virgin in the empire 😏 Xerxes said say lesss! Esther 2:17 states “The King loved Esther more than any of the other young women” 🔥 Mordecai says shhhh girl don’t tell them you’re a Jew! And he becomes a palace official and actually saves the king from being assassinated.

Later, King Xerxes promotes a man named Haman making him the most powerful official in the empire. Haman wanted everyone to bow to him but Mordecai was the only one brave enough to say nopeee I only bow to God my dude. This caused MAJOR BEEF! Haman decided just having beef with Mordecai wasn’t enough, he wanted to kill every Jew! He talked the king into making it a decree to slaughter them all. Mordecai ripped his clothes and cried as loud as he could at the gates until Esther got word of what was happening.

Esther knew (Esther 5:10) anyone who appears before the King without an invite was doomed to die!!! But perhaps she was made for such a time as this!!! Going before the King ready to die she says heyy hubby how about you and your boy Haman let me throw you a banquet and he was like okay sure don’t kill her and I’ll go to the party! Phew!

Haman was bragging he was invited to a party and also bragging he made a massive pole to impale Mordecai on. Joke was on him because later him and all of his sons were impaled on it (sorry spoiler but my caption says “too long” so go read the ending yourself lazybones). by @greatbluearin

BEAR MORE FRUIT 🍎🐻
I thought it was soooo interesting in John 12:2 Jesus says the branches that DO bear fruit, God the gardener PRUNES so we may bear MORE fruit! I couldn’t find anywhere else in the Bible after deeep diving of an explanation how He prunes our lives. I would assume to us it feels like closed doors, loss of friendships, moving locations, losing a job, etc! He prunes us so we may bear more fruit 🍓🍐🍊 He really does make all things work together for our good! In Galatians 5:22 the fruits are listed as LOVE + JOY + PEACE + PATIENCE + KINDNESS + GOODNESS + FAITHFULNESS + GENTLENESS + SELF CONTROL 🫐🍇🍒 Remember next time you’re feeling doors close around you, God may be pruning you to watch you grow! Jesus wept. ❤️💦 John 11:35
Sometimes the shortest verse hits the hardest!
In a world that emotions feel forbidden, masking and perfection are praised, distraction (touching our phone 2,000 times a day) is normal - I’m thankful for our blue print, Jesus Christ, keeping it real!!!! Over and over and over in the Bible there is no lack of emotion. In John 11:33-35 Jesus is deeply troubled + angered + weeping. In Matthew 5 He says he draws near the poor in spirit, the mourning, the persecuted. In 1 Samuel 1, Hannah is in prayer wailing, crying out in bitter anguish, so much so that the priest thinks she is drunk - But God is nearby and answers her prayers! Our real, raw emotions are never too messy for Jesus! He sits with us, cries with us and HEALS us! He turns our mourning into dancing and sorrow into joy. Thank you Jesus for weeping! Thank you for being in the mountain and the valleys!!! 🙌🙌🙌 by @greatbluearin

Hear me out.. the “Got Milk?” Campaign but this one is “Got Thorn?” 😂🥲😍 in 2 Corinthians 12:7 Paul talks of a thorn in his flesh he asked God to remove. God says naahhh I have plenty of grace for your imperfections and when you’re weak I am strong shawty (paraphrased 😉). I can definitely relate to this and might be bold enough to say everyone can! I have begged and pleaded for a thorn to be removed in my life and it didn’t happen. To be honest it feels confusing! When someone has cancer, when someone is disabled, when our baby is sick, when we are hurting from a thorn. We have all heard “by his wounds we are healed” but maybe by OUR wounds we are SAVED. Like Paul, my thorn has helped draw me near to God, keep me humble, keep me obedient. In our imperfections we reflect and call out on the Lord who is PERFECT!!! Who even sent his perfect son to be crowned in thorns!!! I can’t pretend to have Gods understanding but I have confidence there is salvation in our suffering 🙏 if that’s the case, WOW I am so GRATEFUL for my thorn!!! God never calls us to be perfect and for this reason we can delight in our weakness and hardships. Love yall ❤️❤️❤️ by @greatbluearin
