Excerpts from an unforgettable evening at the Eleutherna Archaeological Museum, Crete.On June 26 and 27, ancient ritual met contemporary ballet as CORYBANTES came to life. We brought a site-specific vision to this sacred ground, exploring the beautiful tension between the fleeting magic of dance and the enduring spirit of the museum’s millennia-old collections.Rooted in Professor Nikos Stampolidis’s concept of Ancestral Intelligence, the performance became a true celebration of human heritage, memory, and creative continuity—carried entirely through the breathtaking movement of our dancers.From Andrey Kaidanovskiy’s (@a.kaydanovskiy) brilliant world premiere to masterworks by Benjamin Millepied, Maurice Béjart, Alexander Ekman, Tess Voelker, and Ben Van Cauwenbergh, the evening was elevated by the stunning, fluid garments of @zeusndione , which beautifully echoed every movement. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible audience for sharing this space with us, and to @grecotel for generously hosting and supporting this vision. Together, we bridged the gap between what is preserved in stone and what can be expressed in a single, breathless moment. In 1992, Mari Daskalantonaki — Owner & Managing Director of GRECOTEL — made a lifelong commitment to support the excavation of Ancient Eleutherna, led by Professor Nikos Stampolidis, celebrated archaeologist and Director of the Acropolis Museum.One of Crete’s most important archaeological sites, set on the slopes of Mount Psiloritis, Eleutherna has revealed nearly three thousand years of continuous Greek civilization.Born into an ancient land, what grounds and touches us most is its preservation. Surrounded by music, friends and Cretan tradition, we honored our people, our heritage and our journey.Mrs. Mari Daskalantonaki, CEO of the group, offered her own heartfelt ”thank you” along with a promise for the future.“In Crete, we live by our emblems and symbols. GRECOTEL’s 50 years celebrations kick off in Corfu! GRECOTEL marked its 50th anniversary with a vibrant and deeply heartfelt event, dedicated to the local Corfiot community and the employees who have supported its vision for half a century, forming the very soul of GRECOTEL itself.In a moving speech, the Group’s Managing Director, Mrs. Mari Daskalantonaki, welcomed guests “to a celebration of heart and gratitude for Corfu”, referring to the island as “the noble lady of the Ionian”, and expressing sincere thanks for the trust, love, and partnership that have shaped GRECOTEL’s journey in Corfu and beyond. Although GRECOTEL’s founder, Mr. Nikos Daskalantonakis, began his journey in Crete, his birthplace, it was Corfu he chose for four emblematic resorts.Held in the beautifully restored Danilia Village, the evening honored not only a milestone but also a relationship nurtured over generations between a hospitality group and a community that embrace it.
