@happinessproject × @fountaincitynupes: all minds matter!

The Eta Theta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. stands in solidarity with those navigating mental health challenges throughout Columbus, Georgia, and beyond.

Behind every struggle is a human being deserving of compassion, dignity, and belonging.

According to the 2022 Georgia Student Health Survey, 82% of surveyed Muscogee County high school students reported experiencing stress. SAMHSA’s 2023–2024 estimates also indicate that 32.6% of Georgians ages 18–25 experienced mental illness, while 12.5% reported serious thoughts of suicide.

These are more than statistics: these numbers are representing our classmates, neighbors, friends, and loved ones.

As humanity becomes increasingly connected digitally, we must not lose our sense of community. Platforms like Fizz @fizzcolumbus @blackfizzapp, are misused for anonymous harassment, divisive rhetoric, and humiliation, which deepen isolation and emotional distress. Behind every screen is a person whose struggles we may never fully understand.

To our Columbus community: May we extend grace before judgment, check on one another, challenge harmful rhetoric, and encourage those struggling to seek support. Let us create spaces where vulnerability is met with compassion rather than ridicule.

Brotherhood is checking in, not just showing up. Community is caring, not simply coexisting.

♦️ Thank you to the 18 CSU students who attended #PROTECTED: Know Your Status! Together, we broke stigmas through interactive discussions on STIs, HIV prevention, consent, sexual wellness, and healthcare resources.

Photos are limited to respect student privacy in this vulnerable space. We hope to expand this programming to campuses where sexual awareness is needed most.

One student at a time. One stigma broken at a time. ❤️
