Still heartbroken by the felling of this tree.
When will we truly understand, as a species that there is no replacement for established trees. #planting a nursery means little in the face of killing established trees 😒 I feel like I’m always moaning on this app but I am truly a very positive person. It gives me great hope t see others protecting trees esp older trees, take them in, make them a part of your community!

‘Green’ as a label is a scary one. Scary because too often it’s a blatant lie. Greenwashing is rife. The product is likely not ‘natural’, ‘eco’, ‘organic’ nor ‘plastic free’.
Anything made new is full of waste. Water waste, pesticide residue, microplastics, resource waste and likely shipping/packaging waste. The best product is no product. If you can, reuse, borrow or make from resources in your house. Make this Halloween LESS SCARY?! by @green.ings

THE C WORD 🫣

It's too early to say it...but it's not too early to plant for it!

You can plant spuds indoors or outdoors NOW to be ready for an end of year harvest!

Make sure you use cold-stored potatoes not just the ones you grew earlier in the season as those will be dormant for a bit.

The ones you need to buy are seed potatoes, varieties such as ‘Charlotte’, ‘Nicola’ and ‘Maris Peer’ are recommended as you don't need to chit them you can just put them in soil.

OR

You can hold back late-winter-bought tubers yourself by keeping them in the fridge or leaving them in a cool, light place right through the spring and early summer and allowing them to develop long (and rather fragile) sprouts. These will need to be checked regularly for aphids.
