💧 Water sounds harmless… but for babies under 6 months, too much can actually be dangerous.

The good news? Breast milk is almost 90% water — your baby is already getting hydrated. 👶

Next: What WATER should your baby drink after 6 months? 💧#BabyHealth #BabyWater #InfantHealth #NewbornCare #Breastfeeding taken in Green Pediatrics & Family Care by @green.pediatrics

🤰 Pregnant? Don’t just look for Omega-3. Look for DHA. 🧠

Aim for at least 200 mg DHA/day.

🐟 Fish source: pregnancy-safe, low-mercury fish
🌿 Don’t eat fish? Look for algae-derived DHA.

Brands to consider: Nordic Naturals Vegan Prenatal DHA or Ovega-3.

Choose third-party tested products and always check the actual DHA amount on the label.

👶🧠 DHA doesn’t stop mattering after birth.

🤱 Breastfed? Mom’s DHA intake helps determine the DHA available through breast milk.

Around 4–6 months, I start discussing direct DHA supplementation with families — including breastfed babies.

👉 From 6–24 months: ~100 mg DHA/day is a useful reference target.

🌿 Fish-free option: Nordic Naturals Baby’s DHA Vegetarian — made from microalgae and purity tested.

🌿 Another option for 6+ months: Baby Ddrops Algae DHA + ARA — algae-derived and third-party tested.

Always check the actual DHA per dose and follow the infant product’s weight/age instructions.

Breastfed and growing great? Iron still matters.☄️👀

Around 6 months, those iron stores can start running low.

And here’s the pearl: don’t just think hemoglobin — think ferritin too. 🧠

Catch it early.☝🏻🔥 #BreastfedBaby #Breastfeeding #BabyIron #IronDeficiency #Ferritin " taken in Green Pediatrics & Family Care by @green.pediatrics

🧠 DHA during pregnancy: how much and where from?

Aim for at least 200 mg of DHA daily during pregnancy.

Good sources:
🐟 Salmon, sardines & trout — choose low-mercury, pregnancy-safe fish
🌿 Algae-derived DHA — a great fish-free option

For supplements, look for third-party testing for purity and contaminants.

Brands to consider: Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA or Nordic Naturals Vegan Prenatal DHA (algae-derived).

Always check how much actual DHA is in the serving—not just “omega-3.”

Pregnancy nutrition is about more than simply taking a prenatal. 🤰🥑

Your body is doing incredible work — and getting the right nutrients from real, nourishing foods can help support both you and your baby throughout pregnancy.

A prenatal can help fill the gaps, but it shouldn’t replace a nutrient-rich diet.

In this video, Dr. Biki shares 9 key nutrients she pays close attention to during pregnancy — and simple food sources that can help you get them naturally. 💚

Save this for later and share it with a mom-to-be! 🤰

🤰 Pregnant or planning to be?

Start reading the fine print.

Folate and folic acid are not the same form.

Know what you're getting. Read the label. Choose intentionally. 🌿#Pregnancy #TryingToConceive #PreconceptionHealth #PrenatalHealth #PrenatalNutrition taken in Green Pediatrics & Family Care by @green.pediatrics

🧠 Leucovorin may help some children with autism—but how do you know if YOUR child may benefit?

Don’t guess. Test. Then personalize.

🤰 Sometimes there is no clear moment when everything changed.

When we don't have a clear WHEN, sometimes we need to go further back.

Before birth. Sometimes even before pregnancy.

🧠 Regression gives us a timeline.

We may know WHEN things changed.

But that doesn't automatically tell us WHAT was happening.

That’s the part worth investigating.

🛡️ AUTISM & IMMUNITY: DON’T MISS THIS
When I evaluate a child with autism, I don’t look at the brain in isolation.

The immune system and the brain are constantly communicating — which is why immune health can be an important part of the bigger picture.
Some of the areas I may look at include:

1️⃣ Frequent infections and antibiotic history
2️⃣ Allergies and eczema
3️⃣ Inflammation markers
4️⃣ Overall immune function
5️⃣ Immune response and antibody titers
6️⃣ Vitamin D, zinc and copper
7️⃣ Viral exposures
8️⃣ Bacterial and other infections
9️⃣ Yeast, fungal issues and parasites

This isn’t about finding one test or one infection that “explains” autism.

It’s about identifying potentially treatable issues that may be adding extra stress to this individual child’s health.

💚 The more we know, the less we guess.

Tema o kojoj roditelji imaju mnogo pitanja, a još više nedoumica. Zato smo razgovarale otvoreno i detaljno, iz ugla pedijatrije.
