[May 3] Family Day at the Milwaukee Art Museum.. it was an AMAZING event and quite the dream come true… so many family and friends showed up with love and support 😭😍 The pictures show my collaboration with the MAM on TWO projects- the school “magical mixups” and the Kohl’s studio project “ magical story boxes”. For the mixups, we worked with students to create characters to jumble up and display. Some were printed onto boxes for people to move around. For the studio project, people were able to make their own character on a sliding box and add a story inside. It was a great way for people to play with paper, take their time, and enjoy the process of creating a character. This project is still available in the Kohl’s art center until mid June. Time for a (re)introduction for all the new followers and people who havent heard my tale… my name is Ellia Ana Hill and I’m a 🇵🇷 cut paper artist, author, and illustrator…. I’ve written two children’s books and have illustrated 5… currently, I’ve been working on art for gallery shows, local spots, and upcoming events. I LOVE coffee and can be rather chatty, thanks to personality, caffeine, and anxiety. I’m a writer who has plenty of stories, poems, and ideas that are itching to be published… I have a blog but am terrible with web design so I’ve been avoiding adding stories to it… BUT my motto is, OUR stories matter, be it small memories or big pivotal moments. Our voice deserves to be heard and if you have a story, never hesitate to share (unless you are frustrated with your crummy web design then you have an excuse 😂)… if I ever meet you in person, I might invade your personal space a tad but will also tell ya to share your story. 💚

Also: all my cut paper is HAND CUT… I use blades, scissors, glue, and often refurbished frames for my work…

7k books of The No Boy sold since 2022 (that’s almost like 5 books sold daily)… No idea if that is a “good” number and it doesn’t have any awards… but to a girl who dreamed of writing and illustrating books?!? It’s amazing. hopefully more books to come… thank you all who have shown support, left feedback, encouraged, and continue to stick around 💚

Art for Arthritis Gala 2026… Basilio and I participated in this fundraiser, him as a youth artist and me as a mentor. @sketchy_tony and Basilio created some magnificent art and how do I NOT have a picture of them two at the gala together😭?

It was an emotional rollercoaster as a mom, as an artist, and holding back tears from a heavy heart. Thankful for all the love and support 💚 by @greenbeanbaby

Basilio and I were a part of the Art for arthritis program which teams up Milwaukee artists to create art with kids who have a painful disease. As you know, Basilio has CRMO and it is been many years of pain and meds. Well he got to work with my friend (who does some AMAZING murals and art) @sketchy_tony… and I was a mentor too! Nora and her family were an absolute joy to work with! Check out all the photos and details…

Tone and Basilio working on their paintings together at Tone’s studio… Tone is an AMAZING mentor. Basilio still deals with pain and adjusting with meds. Tone inspired him and made that kid’s entire summer!! And looka the work they created!!!!

Basilio is surrounded by family and enjoys their company as well as anime, Stranger Things, soccer, and Minecraft. He plays games of all sorts but is also into art, reading, and writing. Basilio has a rare auto inflammatory disease called chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO). This causes constant pain and fatigue which can affect his mobility. Despite the challenges, he is very optimistic and friendly Basilio is proud of his cultures and plans to go to Puerto Rico.

More than 6,000 children served by the Arthritis Foundation in Wisconsin have some form of this painful disease. Art for Arthritis is the Arthritis Foundation Wisconsin’s fundraiser where we connect Milwaukee famous artists with kids who are challenged with juvenile arthritis in an art mentorship program over the summer.

The Art for Arthritis gala is on October 9 at Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel. All masterpieces created by both kids and artists, will be sold at our live auction benefiting the Arthritis Foundation and Camp M.A.S.H (Make Arthritis Stop Hurting).

New school year… and a new school All 4 kids will be attending NEW school this year! Heading into a an MPS public school with an arts based program is something that I’ve been wanting for them. I’ve partnered with Goodbeat and City Forward Collective —nonprofit organizations that help families navigate the school system, to ensure every child has access to a great school.
