This month marks 15 years of growing/farming for me ! I was inspired by @gracies.greens.vashon a fews years back of sharing and wanted to celebrate this long haul milestone for myself.

15 years ago I moved to Auroville, India to study scientific illustration in a botanical garden. The work and atmosphere was strict, very technical and cold. The day before I was to start, already dreading the isolating work that was ahead, I went to a nearby farm for lunch - and that was it, I switched jobs that day. My life up until then had always been art and drawing. But, to be in a space run by such an eclectic group of people from around the world working hard with the soil, creating this intricate food forest maze was so artistic, anticapitalist, inspiring and a complete BALM of joy for me. My path split. That farm led me to WWOOFing and experiencing many different ways a farm can look and run and FEEL. I’m so grateful to Krishna and all my sweet farm friends for helping me find my way to seeds.

The sweetest @blue.skies.farm is at the Vashon Farmers market RIGHT NOW to 3pm today with the Flower Co-op table (!!!) such an amazing selection from @handpickedhomestead @venisonvalley @blue.skies.farm and @greenearsgarden. Such a special and fun collaboration with all Island growers 💫💫💫

Rain or mist or cloudy sun / see you at the market today / small but special haul with lots of Coral Charm Peony bunches as well as ranunculus and Spring Bouquets / waking up every morning to the sweet sounds of the neighborhood woodpecker on our gate 😵‍💫

Thank you so much for showing up at the farmers market these past few weeks and supporting the thing that brings me the most joy. The support has been beyond anything I could have imagined — thank you.

The flower co-op also had its first table of the season, showcasing beautiful offerings from @tending.wild.farm @handpickedhomestead @sweet.alyssum.farm @venisonvalley and @blue.skies.farm. The next co-op table at the market will be on 5/30 — more updates soon.

The stand will be closed today through the weekend while I catch up in the garden. I’ll be back at the market this Saturday, 5/16, with lots of flowers: ranunculus, irises, lupines, poppies, aquilegia, and the last of my chrysanthemum cuttings. <3
