Recently, I happened to notice that someone had bought exactly these three knitting patterns together, and apart from being absolutely thrilled about that order, it struck me how well the three go together. And I think that some knitted flowers on your feet are just perfect to help lift your spirits during a potential autumn blues or simply to look forward to spring.🌷 Do you also like to bring a touch of spring and summer into your everyday life during autumn and winter – and if so, how? ☀️

Neulich habe ich durch Zufall gesehen, dass jemand genau diese drei Strickanleitungen zusammen gekauft hat, und davon abgesehen, dass ich mich natürlich riesig über diese Bestellung gefreut habe, ist mir dabei aufgefallen, wie gut die drei optisch zusammenpassen. Und dann finde ich auch, dass so ein paar gestrickte Blümchen an den Füßen ja ganz wunderbar dabei helfen, über einen potenziellen Herbstblues hinwegzukommen oder sich einfach nur aufs Frühjahr vorzufreuen.🌷 Holst du dir im Herbst und Winter auch gern den Frühling und Sommer in deinen Alltag und wenn ja: wie?☀️

P A T T E R N 💚 R E L E A S E [Eng | De]

A love letter to knitting - the pattern for the Knit Purl Repeat Sweater is now available on Ravelry! This top-down sweater with a saddle shoulder construction and fun colorwork stripes is worked seamlessly and mostly in the round. As it calls for DK weight yarn, it’s still rather lightweight, perfect for transitional weather or layering over summer outfits on chilly evenings.✨

A big thank you to @bcgarn who generously supported this design - I really fell in love with the stunning (and sustainable!) yarn Semilla Melange GOTS, as did many of my testers.💚 And an equally huge thank you to my wonderful testing team who came up with so many creative interpretations. Eine Liebeserklärung ans Stricken - die Anleitung für den Knit Purl Repeat Sweater ist ab sofort auf Ravelry verfügbar! Der Pullover mit Sattelschultern und Colourwork-Streifen wird ohne Nähen von oben nach unten gestrickt, hauptsächlich in der Runde. Durch das Garn in DK-Stärke ist er immer noch recht leicht - perfekt für die Übergangszeit oder als Wärmespender in kühlen Sommernächten.✨

The Flowers and the Bees🌸🐝 [Eng | De]

My new pattern „The Flowers and the Bees“ is a toe-up colorwork sock design with a heel flap and gusset, and with a message: it would like to raise awareness of the importance of native wildflowers to promote biodiversity.🌸🌱🌼🌿🌷 The leg features a leaf pattern using small cables, followed by blossoms and wild bees that are created with the help of a special stranded colorwork technique (for which you need some experience in colorwork knitting!).🪻

„The Flowers and the Bees“ sind von der Spitze aus gestrickte Colourwork-Socken mit Käppchenferse - und mit einer Botschaft: Sie möchten darauf aufmerksam machen, wie unglaublich wichtig heimische Wildpflanzen für die Biodiversität und damit auch für unsere Lebensgrundlage sind.🌸🌱🌼🌿🌷 Über den Schaft verläuft ein Blattmuster, das durch kleine Verzopfungen entsteht, gefolgt von Blüten und Wildbienen, für die eine spezielle Colourwork-Technik zum Einsatz kommt (die etwas Erfahrung im Colourwork-Stricken erfordert).🪻

C h a l l e n g e ✨ [Eng | De]

I’ve never knitted a cardigan before. I’ve never knitted pockets before. Right now, I’m knitting my very first cardigan. With diagonal pockets. And I’m designing the whole thing myself. What was I thinking?🥸 I’ve asked myself that quite a few times over the past few weeks. But so far – and I hardly dare say it – I’m actually pretty pleased with the work in progress, I suppose? What do you think?🌿

The fact that I’ve never knitted a cardigan before also means: I’d really, really like to have one! An incredibly cosy, long one. And the yarn I get to use for it is simply PERFECT for that. The thick merino wool from @wiesenwolle_muenchen keeps you wonderfully warm, and this hand-dyed masterpiece from @screaming.colours_ makes me think of a green spring meadow even in the chilly autumn air.💚

Ich hab noch nie eine Strickjacke gestrickt. Ich hab noch nie Taschen gestrickt. Gerade stricke ich meine erste Strickjacke. Mit diagonalen Eingrifftaschen. Und entwerfe sie komplett selbst. Was ich mir dabei gedacht habe?🥸 Das habe ich mich in den letzten Wochen auch schon das ein oder andere Mal gefragt. Aber bisher bin ich eigentlich - ich trau es mich kaum zu sagen - schon ganz zufrieden, schätze ich? Wie findest du’s?🌿

Dass ich noch nie eine Strickjacke gestrickt habe, bedeutet auch: Ich hätte furchtbar gern eine! So eine richtig kuschlige, lange. Und das Garn, das ich dafür verwenden darf, passt einfach PERFEKT dafür. Die dicke Merinowolle von Wiesenwolle hält schön warm und dieses handgefärbte Meisterwerk von @screaming.colours_ lässt mich auch in der herbstlichen Kühle an eine grüne Frühlingswiese denken.💚

B o t a n i c a l 🌿 [Eng | De]

I’ve just realised I never posted the photos from our little “shoot” at the botanical gardens in Utrecht. Whenever I’m on holiday, the first thing I check is whether there’s a botanical garden — it‘s my favourite kind of sightseeing. 🌱

Unfortunately, we didn’t choose a particularly impressive part of the gardens for the photos, but it was one of the few places where we weren’t being watched by the other visitors. 😅

Lots of my knitting patterns are inspired by plants — like the Ginkgo Biloba Top I‘m wearing, knitted in @knittingforolive Pure Silk. Do you enjoy visiting botanical gardens as well? 💚

Mir ist gerade aufgefallen, dass ich noch gar nicht die Fotos von dem kleinen „Shooting“ im Botanischen Garten in Utrecht gepostet habe. Wenn ich im Urlaub bin, schaue ich immer zuerst, ob es einen Botanischen Garten gibt - das interessiert mich mehr als alle anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten.🌱

Leider haben wir uns für die Fotos einen nicht so eindrucksvollen Bereich des Gartens ausgesucht, dafür aber einen, wo man nicht von den anderen Besucher*innen beobachtet wird.😅

Viele meiner Strickanleitungen sind von Pflanzen inspiriert - wie hier das Ginkgo Biloba Top aus Pure Silk von @knittingforolive. Gehst du auch gern in Botanische Gärten?💚

Three of Central Europe’s wildflowers – yarrow, wild carrot and bellflower – have inspired it: the Let It Grow Sweater.🌿 This summer, whenever I saw lush wildflower meadows being mown in the worst heat and drought, leaving only scorched stubble behind, I often thought angrily: Just let them grow! Well, that’s how this jumper came about.🤷🏼‍♀️😅

I’m thrilled that I got to work with a beautiful regional yarn for this pattern – @schur.pur_garn German Merino DK. It’s non-superwash, and in addition to a small but wonderfully coordinated palette of dyed shades, there is also the natural sheep colour. My sweater has waist shaping, but you can also work it straight.

Schafgarbe, Wilde Möhre und Glockenblume haben ihn inspiriert - den Let It Grow Sweater. Wenn ich diesen Sommer immer wieder gesehen habe, wie in der schwersten Hitze und Trockenheit saftig grüne Wildblumenwiesen gemäht wurden, sodass nur verbrannte Stoppeln übrigblieben, habe ich mir oftmals wütend gedacht: Lasst doch einfach wachsen! Tja, so ist dieser Pullover entstanden.🤷🏼‍♀️😅

Sowing Season 🌿 & Sock Season🧦 [Eng | De]

Soon it will be time to sow – and time for cozy socks. Late August and early September are the perfect moment to start knitting socks to keep your feet warm in autumn – and time to collect wildflower seeds from meadows that are already partly faded and to sow them in your garden or on your balcony for next year.🌼

You can do both with the pattern for the Midsommar Socks: not only will it bring the warmth of summer to your cold autumn feet, but the pattern also includes a small wildflower guide to get to know the species depicted on the socks.🌸

The current state of affairs … [Eng | De]

… is different, because in fact, this sweater is already finished and drying.☺️ I had to hurry - the specific plant that‘s depicted in the colourwork section is already fading and I want to take photos with it still in bloom. Any guesses which plant it might be?🌼

While this one is blocking, I‘m already knitting away on the second pattern I‘m working on at the moment.🌱

Der Stand der Dinge … ist ein anderer, denn dieser Pullover liegt eigentlich gerade schon zum Trocknen da.☺️ Ich musste mich beeilen, denn die Pflanze, die im Colourwork-Abschnitt zu sehen ist, verblüht schon langsam und ich möchte den Pullover gern mit dieser Pflanze fotografieren. Hast du eine Idee, um welche Pflanze es sich handelt?🌼

Während dieser Pullover trocknet, arbeite ich schon weiter an der zweiten Anleitung, die gerade entsteht.🌱
