At Green Gather, learning doesn’t begin and end in the classroom. It happens when a child solves a math challenge, when their first words in English come alive with Jolly Phonics, when they learn to breathe through big feelings with HeartMath, when they practice kindness with Conscious Discipline, or when they make music through our special music program with the Filarmonía Vallesana.

And our ecosystem is not just an idea, it’s a forest. 🌳 A living classroom where children climb, explore, wonder, and discover themselves — learning as naturally as the trees grow.

And just like the forest, our ecosystem includes every root and branch:

🌿 LightHouse, where parents grow alongside their children.
🌳 Canopy, the bridge that keeps families and school strong, like trees connected beneath the soil.

This is why Green Gather is not just a school: it’s a place where learning is alive, relationships matter, and growth is shared — as naturally as the forest itself. 💚

Read-a-thon 📖📚 by @greengather.mx

Second week and the school year is well underway.

Ideas are being shared. Questions are taking shape. Friendships are growing. And through every contribution, big or small, our community becomes more of what it is meant to be.

Because what each of us gives is what allows all of us to gather 💚

This is where we begin.
We begin together.
Back to where we belong.
Learning lives here.
Here, we grow together.
The forest is alive.
Together we come alive.
Back in motion.

Your place is here.
Among the trees, the questions, the people.
A place to learn who you are and how you belong to something bigger than yourself. 🌿

Learning begins in relationship.

Because teenagers still need adults, maybe more than ever.

They need adults who understand development. Adults who can hold strong boundaries without losing the relationship. Adults who know when to guide, when to listen and how to remain close while making room for someone new to emerge.

At Green Gather, adolescence is not a problem to solve or a stage to simply get through. It is one of the most complex and consequential moments in human development, and accompanying it well requires far more than good intentions.

This is why teacher training at GG goes far beyond lesson planning. We study pedagogy, mental health, human development, sustainability and relationships, because educating a teenager requires understanding the whole person.

During our teacher training weeks, Lucrecia Pineda led Architecture for Development, an in-depth workshop on authority, attachment, awareness and structure in adolescence.

Grounded in Dr. Gordon Neufeld’s developmental, attachment-based approach, the workshop helped our teachers understand what may exist beneath resistance, distance, intensity and the growing need for autonomy.

They explored how to distinguish differentiation from disconnection, how to give adolescents space without disappearing, and how to maintain clear authority without silencing the young person emerging in front of us.

Because becoming yourself shouldn’t mean doing it alone.

Welcome back to Green Gather.

In just a few days, our classrooms and forest will be bursting with laughter and curiosity.

Because a school year is built not only through calendars, subjects and lesson plans, but also in the space between people.

In the teacher who knows your name.
The friend who saved you a seat.
The question you finally feel safe enough to ask.
The person who notices when you arrive, and when something is not quite right.

Learning is built on knowledge.

But it also depends on feeling safe enough to wonder, to try, to make mistakes and to grow alongside others.

The classrooms are ready.
The projects are waiting.

But more importantly, we are waiting for you.

Before our students return, our teachers become learners again.

These weeks are much more than training. They are where the Green Gather model moves from purpose into practice.

Using backward design, each section defines its goals for the year and intentionally creates the experiences, projects and questions that will lead students there.

Because at GG, nothing stands alone.

A project is never just a project.
A routine is never just a routine.
Everything has a why.

Everything is connected to a larger purpose: helping students understand themselves, engage meaningfully with the world and develop the courage and capabilities to contribute to it.

Throughout these weeks, our team participates in internal and external learning experiences across pedagogy, sustainability, mental health, human connection and community building.

Yes, we build a team.

Students can feel when an experience has been thoughtfully designed for them. They can feel when their teachers are connected, prepared and aligned. And they can feel when every detail belongs to something bigger.

These are the weeks behind the school year.

The work you may not always see, but that shapes everything your children eventually will.

8th Grade Camp Photo Dump 🌿

Some adventures aren’t about how far you go, but about who you become along the way.

This camp was about building trust, strengthening friendships, and discovering the quiet power of belonging. Because the strongest communities aren’t built overnight, they’re built one shared experience at a time.

Here’s to the memories that brought us closer. 🤍

Thank you @pipiolcamp for being a great host!

Growth rarely feels comfortable.

It looks like muddy shoes, heavy backpacks, difficult decisions, quiet confidence, and a team that keeps moving forward together.

Some of the most important lessons are the ones you can only learn out here.

There comes a point when adventure becomes responsibility.

When nature stops being the backdrop and becomes the teacher.

This was one of those moments.
