There’s nothing quite like running a shotgun.

Recoil management, efficient loading, target transitions, and keeping the gun fed. The shotgun demands solid fundamentals and rewards those who put in the work.

Tomorrow we’re back on the range for Defensive Shotgun in Culpeper, VA.

A few spots remain.

Executing thousands of vehicle rams during tactical driving instruction built up a heavy physical toll.

When a ram is executed properly, the force pushes straight through with minimal issue. But when a student steps on the brake right at impact, the secondary crash jolts the entire body—shaking things up the wrong way over years of repetitive training.

I think the Achilles' heel for most of us is alcohol, man.

Taking an extended break from drinking reveals just how much better every part of the body can actually feel.

As time goes by, tolerance drops and recovery takes much longer. Comparing drinking to working out—if you haven't done it in years, the recovery period is going to be rough.

As an 18 Charlie handling demo, explosive shockwaves were just part of the routine.

Detonating two Claymore mines on the back side of a massive tree seemed safe enough, but when those charges blew, the shockwave came right around that trunk. It knocked the air straight out of their lungs and shook their entire bodies—an everyday event in uniform that carries lasting physical effects.

Defensive pistol work starts with the fundamentals—drawing efficiently, getting accountable hits, managing the gun, and solving problems without wasting time or movement.

This 4.5-hour clinic keeps it focused: practical reps, an indoor range, and a convenient Fairfax location within an easy drive of the DMV.

MAGNIFIED CARBINE | OCT 10–11

Magnification extends the capability of the carbine—but only if you know how to use it.

This weekend at Echo Valley we’ll work positional shooting, holds, target identification, and making consistent hits at distance with a magnified carbine.
