🎃🏠🎤 OPEN MIC FOR MANNA HOUSE - 31ST OCTOBER 2026 🎤🎃🏠

Thank you thank you 🙏

To the select audience, thank you.

To Dave, volunteer with Manna House who eloquently explained the precarious nature of funding and future of Manna House as well as the welcoming, non judgmental, awe inspiring and truly invaluable nature of Manna House in 2026 and going forwards.

To the readers, thank you.

Those who set up with us, thank you.

To @ciararoseart for the artwork on the welcome slide.

To @pedlerilse who brought some of her pamplets and collections with 50% proceeds to Manna house.

To @arthurlivesleyjewellery who spent hours in our studio making beautiful Manna House inspired earrings and keyrings. Some still available for those keen - message us or him directly, thank you.

To @skelsmerghcommunityhall for donating the space for *FREE*, thank you.

To all who listened to a evening of poems which allowed many to share peices of themselves. And as an audience for kindness, empathy and patience, thank you.

Those who did a lovely thing of driving by and dropping in on the way to another Manna House event to wish us well, and donate, thank you.

To those who donated raffle prizes, who bought tickets, who won, thank you.

To my husband and rock who did the tech, the set up, the supermarket shop for snacks and booze, who sat with me at a hospital appointment earlier that day quietly reassuring me that he was there, things would get better, for being a rockstar and my rock, thank ypu.

To anyone who supported last night in other ways via the raffle, donations, support, enthusiasm, event sharing, media, thank you.

For helping to raise ~£150 TBC thank you.

To those who trust and also hope because of Manna House, that Kendal Cumbria can be home to them, that there is community and family in places and people and it is worth having hope for the future, thank you.

And finally to @mannahousekendal for keeping the door open despite all the challenges, thank you. We stand with you. Last night I hope was the first of good things things we do to support you.

💚 NW GREEN PARTY TRAINING TRAINING DAY 💚

@arthurlivesleyjewellery (member of @kendalgreenparty) and I (member of @mcrgrnparty) are happy to have been up since the crack of dawn in our hometown of Kendal to see this sunrise and to make the train to Manchester…

Here for an exciting day. Train was fine. Storm in a tea cup so far. Bag full of snacks in case the rerun is delayed. Looking forward to a productive and inspiring day. And to see a lot of familiar and new faces.

💚💚💚💚

See you soon @just2lovable and @greenpartydaoud - amongst many others including @nataliebennettgreen … But am extremely enthused for the workshops offered today! Well done to those stepping forward to run these this afternoon after this morning’s plenary…

Hopeful to meet up with some lovelies today, in a more relaxed environment than on the campaign / on a doorstep or in Brighton at conference. See you soon!

🦹🏼‍♀️🧘‍♀️🏄‍♀️ WORLD MENOPAUSE DAY - POETRY 18th OCTOBER 🦹🏼‍♀️🧘‍♀️🏄‍♀️

Anyone free this Sunday?

World Menopause Day.

Optional early walk at 9.30am. Or sessions at Fellside all day. Dip in or come all day! Bring lunch to share.

There is more information on the day’s offerings via the information above.

As part of @thekendalstanza I am doing a poetry workshop on crimsoning in autumn of life, nourishment and nuture.

See you there?

*FREE* if that helps! We are giving our time to this through passionate belief that community is a huge supporter in women’s lives.

RSVP to us via a quick DM with your name for an idea of numbers and also for anyone wishing to ask any info. Katy, Cath and Lou (@katycatalyst @drcathmenopause @evolve_somatics) are all leading in the running and organising of the day and a few others of us are also contributing skills, experience and love into workshops etc.

Would love to thank Katy, Cath and Lou the opportunity to help make creative space for a little playful writing around something that I (peri) experience daily.

My Poetry Prompts workshop will allow people to come as they are. No experience necessary but also if you are also a budding writer don’t think this workshop is not for you. All welcome.

We will read some of other’s work poetry / prose, do some non compulsory free writing, maybe write a group line by line poem which I will guide you through of course.

Then time permitting (I could do this all day) you will leave with some ideas on writing, ways to put pen to paper, knowledge of some future events to listen to more spoken word in the area, some prompts to work from should you want to pick up pen at home, and a link to how to get involved in any future fun of @thekendalstanza and other local writing groups.

💕

💚⛰️👏🏼 HOME IS WHERE MY PEOPLE ARE 👏🏼⛰️💚

The last ten days have been a lot. And the biggest issue was the people I see everyday being distant from me, geographically. It was hard.

Thankful to come home to the love, laughter and care of these people I adore.

@arthurlivesleyjewellery @cizzyrose

Snot bubble crying over wine and picking a cheap tea after the pub to go home with, is a perfect way to spend my Friday night, in bed by 9pm.

Thanks to @brian_bilston for the words. The words I said to @arthurlivesleyjewellery in our wedding speeches. The words he deserves to hear everyday. And Ciara Rose 🌹 we are lucky. Thank you.
