๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ COMMUNITY APPEAL: HELP 12 YOUNG DANCERS FIND A HOME IN TORONTO! ๐Ÿกโค๏ธ

A group of young dancers from Trinidad & Tobago is coming to Toronto for the Immersion Festival (November 8โ€“22, 2026) and needs affordable accommodation!

๐Ÿ“… Stay: November 6โ€“23 (17 nights)
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Guests: 12, including adult chaperones
๐Ÿ“ Location: Toronto/GTA, near TTC or GO Transit
๐Ÿ’ฐ Budget: $2,000โ€“$3,000 CAD total

๐Ÿก Seeking: A safe, furnished private home with enough bedrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen, and laundry facilities.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Adult chaperones will supervise the dancers. The group will manage its own meals, transportation, and daily needs.

โค๏ธ Not asking for free accommodation! We're hoping a homeowner, landlord, church, or community organization can offer a reduced community rate.

๐Ÿ“ฉ CAN YOU HELP?
Contact Jules Bedeau via 6475026911 or Jules.bedeau@gmsil.com

๐Ÿ™ PLEASE SHARE! Even one referral could help these young cultural ambassadors find a welcoming home away from home! ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

๐ŸŽ€ Iโ€™M RUNNING BECAUSE I CAN.
And Iโ€™m running for those who would, if they could. โค๏ธ

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, Iโ€™ll be participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure โ€” Durham with the WestJet Canada team, raising funds to support people affected by breast cancer.

My goal is $300, and Iโ€™m keeping the ask simple: $5. Five bucks. If enough of us do a little, together we can do something meaningful. ๐Ÿ’•

And while I have your attentionโ€ฆ come run with me! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽ€ Itโ€™ll probably be cold. Iโ€™ll probably complain at least once. And apparently Iโ€™ve decided that doing this AND climbing the CN Tower in November is a perfectly reasonable recreational calendar. ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ“… Sunday, October 4, 2026
๐Ÿ“ Durham Region โ€” Ajax, Ontario
๐ŸŽ€ CIBC Run for the Cure

๐Ÿ’— SUPPORT MY RUN / DONATE HERE:

So, $5 if you can. Run with me if you can. Share this if you can. And if none of those work, encouragement is always free. โค๏ธ

Iโ€™m running because I can.
Iโ€™m running for those who would, if they could.

โ€” Jules

WHAT'S SHORT for the goose is short for the gander, it seems. Trinidad girls go for minis. And the police hemline is high, too. So dress is casual on almost any visit.

Toronto Daily Star โ€” Saturday, March 15, 1969 โ€” page 43

Dateline: Port of Spain, Trinidad

PORT OF SPAIN โ€” The name of the game here in Trinidad is excitement. Other islands may offer tranquillity and you can find it on neighboring Tobago, but here there's a sort of fever in the air and the virus that spreads it is music.
Here's where it all began: calypso and steel bands and limbo and the lot, all the earthy, catchy, galvanizing rhythms that set the tourist twitching.
Way back in 1498 when Columbus qualified as the first round-trip tourist, discovering the islands on his third junket, he got much the same reception.
All over the island he found the drums pounding and the conch shells blowing and the Arawak Indians dancing in unadorned delight. Not having modern tastes he went away and didn't come back, something that can't be said of recent visitors. taken in Frederick Street, Port of Spain by @greenwichsquared
