Daydreaming of the Japanese countryside 🌿🌳🌾 Scenes from the Histotic Nakasendo Way, a hike on part of the old Samurai trail connecting Kyoto to Tokyo. This trail takes you through lush forests, cobblestone pathways, quaint post towns (where a bowl of cold soba is not hard to find), rural valleys, tea houses, crystal clear waterfalls and so much more. The Kyu Asakura House is a 2 floor Taishoa-era mansion built in 1919 and tucked away in the Daikanyama neighborhood, just a stroll from Shibuya Station. Visiting this home was a breath of fresh air. We practically had the place to ourselves as we took an hour to explore each room inside, wander the gardens and admire the gardener who was meticulously picking weeds by hand to keep the garden in pristine condition. It was an hour of peace and quiet among busy Tokyo. Highly recommend adding this to your list while in Japan, just remember to wear socks, as they’re required to enter after you take your shoes off 🌿🌱🕊️ #greetingsfromfaraway taken in Daikanyama by @greetingsfromfaraway

Is it even possible to go to Japan and not fall in love? ❤️ I’ve been home nearly two weeks and it’s still all I can think, talk and daydream about! This was captured one night while wandering the streets of Shinjuku which to me, was the most chaotic, yet satisfying part of Tokyo. I don’t even know how to describe it besides overstimulation — blinding lights, sizzling street food, hoards of people, 3D billboards with loud music, sweltering heat…the list goes on and on, but I loved every second. #g͏r͏e͏e͏t͏i͏n͏g͏s͏f͏r͏o͏m͏f͏a͏r͏a͏w͏a͏y taken in Shinjuku, Tokyo by @greetingsfromfaraway
