Traded a weekend of “on your left!” for a whole lotta “I’d filter that”. Despite many people’s preconceptions of WV, we met the kindest people who were super interested in our ride. And not a single truck tried to run us off the road 👍🏼 Also, thank you Mike for 10 water bottles and for warning us about the ‘400lb dangerous women’ living in the forest. First bikepacking trip of the year on the new to me bikepack rig and Maria’s first ever! Possibly the coolest type of biking that I don’t do enough of. The diabetes was not having it, so I’ll need to come up with a plan for sustained trips like this. As always, Maria likes riding my bikes more and insists it’s because of the frame size (it’s not). Campsite was a 3/10 and potentially on top of a natural spring. Regardless, insanely fun. And thanks to Craig for showing me this song and for enduring my loud sleeping pad for years. That’s years of missed sleep because it’s so fricken loud. I’ll contact Nemo (the brand, not the fish). by @gregfriedman

Had to squeeze in one more trip before ankle surgery number six. A reminder of the injury that got me into mountain biking. It’s complicated, but I’m grateful for everything it’s brought me.
