Tracking impossible shots with the new @insta360 X4 for @make.art.now . Workflow walkthrough below. 👇

Filming a closeup, handheld 50mm shot at f/0.95 would be an impossible job for a traditional 3D camera solve. With Insta360s new 8K camera mounted above the A cam, it gives us more than enough environmental data to resolve the motion of the camera using @boris_fx Syntheyes, and with the scene imported into Blender, we can parent a camera to this track data. After measuring the offset of the two cameras in real life, we can mirror that offset in Blender. This workflow is still super experimental, but something I will certainly be exploring.

Met up with this guy yesterday. Being able to see just a sliver of his creative process was super eye opening. Behind the fast cut tutorials and beautiful films is this. Immense planning, writing, and organization.
