This show truly could not be possible without our INCREDIBLE understudies!

They are hard at work stepping into rehearsals, adding additional support, and really adding so much of a ‘family’ aspect into our rehearsals / cast! 💙

❤️ Happy 4-Year Anniversary, Honey. I love you so much. ❤️
❤️ STOP & READ THIS. ❤️
Everybody always asks us how we met.

Well… this is the story of two Iowa boys, the same dream, the same music, the same circles, the same city… somehow spending decades running around each other before finally meeting.

And yes, the dramatic ending of this song is playing for a reason. ✨

CHAPTER ONE: THE DREAM ——

Gregory and I were both Iowa State Fair Singers — just in different years.

Gregory was in ’90, ’91, ’92.I was in ’93, ’94, ’95.

Same dream.Same hope.A microphone in hand.Dancing. Singing. Performing.

And I mean EVERYBODY had their own microphone.

The singers.Even each member of the jazz band had their own mic too.

Twenty singers singing and dancing live, backed by a kick-ass jazz band that also had to audition.

That production was WAY beyond high school.

Only 20 singers made it each year. It was hard to get into — and we both fought like crazy to get there.

And years before we ever met, I remember seeing Gregory onstage and thinking…

“Who’s that guy?”

Because honestly… I thought he was gorgeous. 😂❤️

—— CHAPTER TWO: NEW YORK CITY ——

Then New York City happened.

New York became my hometown for 20 years. Gregory was there too — him in the Broadway world, me in the design world.

Different worlds… somehow all connected.

State Fair Singers. Iowa friends. Broadway people. Designers. Musicians.

We probably crossed the same streets, ran around the same blocks, brushed right past each other…

And still, somehow, we never met.

Everything happened for me in New York City — growing up, dreams, love, heartbreak, friendships, design, the whole journey.

But what truly shaped me into who I became was being a State Fair Singer.

And if I could live inside those three years forever… I would.
