Huge congratulations to 1Step Athlete and Evansville North basketball star, Greg Pieterek, for his nomination of 2nd Team all SIAC. Greg dedicated his entire summer and fall to training — sweating it out in the garage to prepare for what’s next.

No surprise that he’s ready to get back to training, with more goals to accomplish for his upcoming senior season. Keep striving for greatness, Greg! taken in 1STEP Training by @gregpieterek

🎯 DIME ALERT 🎯

Evansville North point guard Greg Pieterek drops a clean dime to #31 Tyler Musich as the Huskies head into the break up 28–21.

Poise at the point. Eyes up. Right read.

Greg Pieterek Sets the Tone as Evansville North Stays Perfect

Evansville North point guard Greg Pieterek continues to prove why he’s such a valuable piece for the Huskies, delivering another strong, winning performance in a road victory over Evansville Reitz.

Pieterek may not always jump off the stat sheet with flashy scoring runs, but make no mistake he’s a very good, solid basketball player who impacts the game in all the ways coaches love. In a physical, competitive environment on the road, he played with poise, toughness, and control, helping North come away with the win.

An incredibly shifty guard, Pieterek uses excellent footwork and stop and go pace to keep defenders off balance. He’s effective getting downhill, attacking gaps, and putting pressure on the defense. While he didn’t rely heavily on the jumper in this matchup, his constant energy and willingness to do the dirty work stood out.

Pieterek finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal, but his impact went beyond the numbers. He’s a hard-nosed, scrappy guard who crashes the boards, looks to draw charges, and stays around the ball making plays. His awareness and positioning are strong, and he’s always engaged defensively and offensively.

He’s the type of player any coach would want: tough, unselfish, energetic, and focused on winning. That mentality is paying off early this season, as Pieterek is helping lead Evansville North to a 4–0 start on the varsity level.

He may not always be the loudest name, but make no mistake Greg Pieterek is a winning player, and he’s one to keep an eye on as the season continues. taken in Evansville, Indiana by @gregpieterek

North comes away with the 60–51 win over Evansville Reitz.

From start to finish, this was a competitive, physical game, but in my opinion, one thing stood out clearly: Greg Pieterrek (#10, North) was the most impactful player on the floor tonight.

Beyond the 14 points, Greg controlled the game with his skill set, basketball IQ, and overall effectiveness. He made the right reads, played within the flow, defended, and consistently influenced winning plays on both ends. His presence was felt every possession, and in my view, he had the biggest impact of any player on either team today.

The goal is winning. Production that directly impacts the outcome matters most no more dead stats that don’t translate to winning basketball.

Notables:
🔹 North
• Greg Pieterrek — 14 points
• Bryson Chapman — 14 points

🔹 Wrights (Reitz)
• Preston Tolliver — 21 points (game-high)
• Tim Swope — 11 points

High level effort from both sides, but Greg’s command of the game made the difference when it mattered most. taken in Evansville, Indiana by @gregpieterek
