Some pistols to liven up your Tuesday by @gregs_grips

Well-made leather and perfectly checkered grips are two of the most important things when it comes to a 1911. My choice of leather will always be @horseoakleather. Andrew has always had my back and for every piece of leather he has crafted for me, it’s always been 110%, a piece of his soul goes into every stitch he does and it shows. And as for my choice of stocks, @gregs_grips has always made them just right. This set of Holly double diamonds is quite possibly my favorite set I’ve owned. Paired with this series 70, it’s truly hard to go wrong. The results speak for themselves.

This series 70 was purchased around 2024 from @kgb_customs and the first thing I had to do to it was slap a @schaulandperformance ring hammer on it, because if you love something, put a ring on it. It was my first venture in fitting a beaver tail and I did, okay. Nothing fancy but it works. This is a great 9mm blaster and a good build. Gotta love that sharp 20LPI. by @gregs_grips

I’ll never keep up with collections like @65ponti and @guns.and.grub , but I can try. This is a S&W Model 28-2, also known as the Highway Patrolman. A “cheaper” version of the model 27, it doesn’t have a high polish blue or top strap serrations. It is, however, a really beautiful pinned and recessed Smith. Please enjoy the price my grandpa paid on this vintage PMC 38 Special. by @gregs_grips

Every MGS fan has yearned for the 1911 from MGS3… and it can’t be just any old pistol. The folks at @caniscustoms made me an absolutely stunning clone of the gun from the game, with all the right details and feel. It’s a custom gun from the ground up, and yes the feed ramps are polished to a mirror sheen. by @gregs_grips

Happy Revolver Wednesday with a cool piece, the 610-2. An unfluted cylinder, 6” barrel and six rounds of any 10mm that will fit in the cylinder. It’s extremely accurate and one of the only centimeter guns that can fire .40 S&W as much as you want without breaking anything. by @gregs_grips

New leather, new grips, what else can a man ask for?

Double Diamond Checkered Holly stocks from the man @gregs_grips. They look absolutely phenomenal on this Series 70 in 9mm. I do need to get this guy finished up at some point, I didn’t blend the beaver tail and I’m not sure I exactly like this style, so I’ll probably have some work done on it in the future but this is a phenomenal 9mm blaster. The Caspian rear ain’t no Bomar but it still works as advertised.

Although I’m not much of a 9mm fan of 1911s anymore, this and my other big-letter 9mm are probably my favorites I own. They just shoot so damn well, and look good too! With these stocks on it gives it a whole new dimension, love it.

It’s finally 45 Friday! These cocobolo stocks are probably staying on this Colt Combat Unit for now. #fortyfivefriday by @gregs_grips
